Why can't MMA fans enjoy one thing without slagging on another?

big news for the United states customers, they have been footing the bill for years to allow other countries cheaper access to boxing. DAZN ain't playing any games at the moment. It's evidently clear that there is a war in boxing rights at the moment, i am glad HBO went down it did, it was killing boxing with its ludicrous prices and now ESPN, DAZN, FOX and showtime are at the helm with promoters PBC, Top Rank and Golden boy looking to secure the best deals. Even NBC is having a small go at it. DAZN already has UFC rights in germany and Japan as well, maybe they can get UFC ppv in the states as well as that is the only property worth investing in that isn't locked up

EDIT: PPV is locked up til 2024, still cool DAZN is trying to change the game to benefit the consumer

Yeah it's not a catalogue service like fight pass though. Event replays only stay up for a week which is super lame

Ugh! That sucks. One of the great things about fight pass is playlisting career fights of the fighters on an upcoming card

Yeah hopefully Its something they address in the future but even so they're pumping out so much content already it's definitely a must have for fight fans

DAZN's fucking dope tbh. I subbed a while back for rory vs gegard, was gonna cancel after the trial but I've enjoyed it so much I kept it.

I admit in my old age i dont have the time to follow much outside ufc and some boxing. Bellator is the only attractive option on there for me and cant even access back catalog.

Fight Pass isn't the functional equivalent or a direct competitor to DAZN.

ESPN+ is.

Also, while Fight Pass doesn't deliver as many live UFC events as originally promised, it carries content from several different minor league MMA promotions, kickboxing and submission grappling, so you can't really complain about homogeneity of the content.

I'm a harsh UFC critic, and I think that it's a decent deal.

I don't think they're competing. Fight Pass is a library, DAZN is a streaming service.

its pretty bad when it comes to replays as well, just watching the WBSS series replay with Fayfer-Tabiti, Tete-Aloyan and its like a 6 hour 45 min event. theres no fight bookmarked, you have manually guess the time you want to access in hopes you reach the fight u want. I pressed like time 5 hr 30 min and its just the dazn logo with song and it continues all the way to the end. Like wtf cut that shit out and give me sections on which fights i want to see, smh

also if anyone asks i use a vpn to access dazn from australia

They won't ever get an exclusive for that.
Too many other places including ESPN+ sell UFC PPV in US

i dont know, they must already have a good relationship with UFC, DAZN already has streaming rights for all ufc ppv events in territories like germany, austria, italy and now Japan. They clearly are invested in the sport of mma

and DAZN CEo James rushton doesn't seem to fuck around, the man gets the work done

i mean they just signed Canelo for 10 fights worth $365 million and $1 billion dollar deal for matchroom boxing, they mean big business

That has zero to do with UFC rights in the states.
As i mentioned they have deals/contracts in place for PPV & it would be asinine to choose only 1 provider.
if they ever did (which they won't) it would be UFC.com or ESPN+

when those contracts are completed i have to imagine DAZN will make a play, are you saying that boxing's biggest draw in the states was asinine to take this 1 provider

also i am sure having existing rights for other territories makes it easier for UFC to consider DAZn as a provider, ie makes it much easier for them to bring them to the table

btw this is not an attack i am asking for a genuine discussion

Agreed, but I'm calling it dazen. I have an idea. "The Zone." THZN. There is time to fix this.
