Opinion Democratic Party Leadership Is Moving Away From Bernie Sanders

Bernie should have ran 3rd party. It was a huge mistake, imo. Especially considering we still got Trump.
But that is a move that takes gigantic balls. Not making that move may have been a mistake, but it doesn't make him a pussy, or anything close, for not doing it.

There is so much party infastructure that is denied to you by running 3rd party.

So much work that has to be allotted to even getting on all 50 state ballots.

He has the profile now to do it, maybe, but in 2016, he most likely would have just been blamed for electing Trump, and splitting the lefts vote.

More valid points. I actually edited the post you quoted. I agree with you.

I actually like Sanders and respect him. But let's be serious, he's a huge pussy. He let the DNC fuck him in the ass and did next to nothing

The appeal of Trump was that he was willing to attack both parties. Bernie is going to need to go after those that are ignoring his popularity or worse yet working against him
I really wanted a Bernie/Trump final. The only way it could have been a bigger fuck you to the establishment is if Vertura was in there as an independent.

moving away?

They already did that in the 2016 primaries...

I tend to disagree with the characterization: they have widely adopted policies resembling Sanders' viewpoints. However, it's a giant party based on coalitionism, and you cannot realistically expect every one of its members to be amenable to social democracy: complete homogeneity is only possible if your party is completely devoid of principle (see: The Republican Party).

If Bernie Sanders runs again, I'd be VERY happy!

I'm pretty sure they already did.

Anyways, get ready for Ralph Nader V2.

It really feels like Bernie is becoming more an more irrelevant as the party is moving away from his more progressive ideas on healthcare, education and wealth disparity. He looks less and less like a leader on these issues going into the 2018 and 2020 election cycle. It looks like the DNC been working on this for sometime slowly pushing Bernie into the sidelines and he looks like he is running out of steam trying to get his message out.

Their movements reflect competing strategies for establishing their reputations and shaping a party that lacks a clear leader and consistent message in the Trump era"

Just read the story. Our Revolution finally won one in Pennsylvania. Good, needed a win. Been frustrating so far.

I wanted Bernie to fight on the convention floor more then I can explain to you. With that said, he was right not to. They would have destroyed his image for it.

I understand calling him a pussy, but I think it is more accurately described as calling it a strategic retreat.

Bernie really is playing 4-D chess.

Totally disagree. It's just not his nature. And for that he's looked at as soft.

I agree that Bernie is far more calculating then agressive. I personally want that quality in a statesman, it's not an MMA fight.

It's funny really. I was getting quite frustrated with Sanders, for exactly what you describe. I'm starting to see the method to his madness though. You got to remember, this is the guy who called glass-steagal, this is the guy who called the Iraq war, this is the guy who called the Patriot Act.

I agree with that he lacks agression. I disagree that it isn't tactical, and revolving around a long road, world veiw.

He's like 3 years older then Trump, and 9 months older then Joe Biden.
He's 3 years older than trump chronologically speaking, but he's obviously much younger/healthier, both mentally and physically.

I actually love that Biden is probably going to run. It takes the age attack away for Bernie.

The people the socialist attack works with, were never going to vote for Bernie anyways.

That leaves the Jew attack line I guess, comes across a bit more anti-semetic just calling him a Jew, instead of a old, socialist, Jew.

If Biden runs then two things:
1. Its obvious he took a knee so Hillary could run "unopposed".
2. Its tragic in a sense, because Joe probably would have won in 2016 against Trump, but will probably lose in the primaries in '20.

Sorry to bring old posts up, but can somebody enlight me what the heck “Watch the needless flames” means?
I searched for it and it brought me here... it must be written somewhere...

No idea but that being said Bernie did not even finish in the top five in a recent fake news CNN poll. Kamala Harris finished first an is very likely a weaker candidate than Hillary. Top it off is her claim that she backs Medicare for all yet jokes in a town hall that her staff does not know. She refused to take a no corporate donor pledge or green energy pledge. She is worried that Warren could get Bernie support. But media really wants you to give up on Bernie.

Exactly. No more than they were forced to by the people.

"Bernie Sanders was never my friend."

Why does Homer Thompson's old posts not show "banned" where the belt is like all the other banned posts?
