After running the IB more I really have no ideal what they did to the 450rpm auto rifles they feel the damn same with origin story and positive outlook still killing at range. I tried using a pulse rifle that this games version of headseeker

They wont need to create all that big of a dlc to match TTK dlc just retrofit new enemies into current world spaces like they did with TTK and RoI. All the TTK did was introduce the Taken to Earth, Venus, and Mars added three new subclasses, 4 new strikes, 3 new PvP game modes, 9 PvP maps, Court of Oryx and a Raid. Now that I read what I just wrote that was a bit of new shit I really hope they can pull it off but with the hype they gave the last DLC and it being shit who knows.

Umm.. ever heard of the Dreadnaught? haha They also added tons of weapons, new exotics, Gunsmith weapon testing, swords, and a bunch of other shit which made it feel like a massive expansion.

My personal opinion is there's no way they can pull off a Comet expansion and have it be anywhere near the size of Taken King with such a skeleton crew. Rise of Iron was great but I believe it was mostly 90% re-used assets. Even Wrath of the Machine is what we were supposed to get with House of Wolves (unconfirmed but makes sense).

I would be VERY cautious of Anthem as they are having a ton of internal issues in similar fashion to what happened to Bungie during D1 development. Anthem's lead designer left for "reasons" and they've already pushed the release date back twice. While I applaud a company for pushing back a release date if the game isn't but it can also attest to the development troubles of a company.

So far they've showed a tech demo which likely isn't even actual game play footage. We'll see what happens and I'm very excited for the game, but with it being EA and having so many problems I feel it's going to be a bit of a mess.

So the reveal stream has come and gone for the Warmind DLC. I'm very much not surprised at the lack of a post on here anymore, but since I'm bored I'll go ahead and link it.

Some interesting stuff but more of the same bland generic gameplay. The Bungie "Content Creators" Summit has come and gone as well and basically the entire consensus from all the content creators who were there is this : After the Comet expansion drops it's going to be a great game.

Talk about history repeating itself, holy shit Bungie!

Edit : Good write-up here with a timeline (IRL timeline) talking about what stuff is coming with the DLC.

Is that the September update? So we're in a Taken King type situation again where the game gets better and then they start slowly ruining it with each change they make?

I watched the reveal earlier I'm not sure how big the new Mars area is going to be but they showed players on sparrows so I'm guessing bigger then Mercury. Then again the sparrow usage could be allowed due to the time limits on that hive public event thing. If it's another small ass world space like Mercury that's going to be bs.

Then the Light Level changes are fucked for solo players both my hunter and warlock are stuck at 333/334 due to stupid ass rng not giving me 335 class items and a 335 boots for my warlock. Now they are making the 380/385 loot only come from raid gear and trials things I don't do so it's going to be like D1 before TTK. Plus the PvP rankings for winning matches is going to suck for solo players but should help their people like Mtashed get views. I guess the guys at bungie are ok with letting solo players be low lvl not that LL really matters in D2.

That summit thing just seems like a thing to keep ppl interested in the game without having to release new shit after the warmind. I saw videos Datto and Mtashed released talking about the stuff they could without screwing with the NDA bs and they both seemed optimistic for the new shit in the fall. This shit is just getting old and repetitive drip feed drip feed drip feed.

Yup, Comet is the Fall (maybe September) expansion like Taken King. In all fairness the content creators seem to feel like Bungie made a serious power play with inviting them to the summit and it appeared they were truly listening. I watched videos about the summit by MoreConsole and Datto and I have seen a ton of Tweets on Reddit by other creators about it and they all are saying the same thing : Bungie was pretty humble and was absolutely interested in direct feedback to the make the game better for the players. Guess we'll see what happens but no way in hell am I ever pre-ordering shit from Bungie again.

Oh yeah... Holtzman, aka Patrick Casey from old school Planet Destiny, is now working at Bungie as a "gameplay specialist."

For those who aren't familiar he was one of the original content creators for the YouTube channel "Planet Destiny" and he is one of those guys who can offer criticism and make it sound like it's solid feedback. I used to watch him and the others play Trials in D1 year 1 and it was fun to watch. Anyways, if he's over there helping out I think it's a super positive thing for the community.

Light level changes are fine with me to be honest... if you're not doing end-game level stuff you don't need end-game level light gear. Now that light-level actually matters it's going to a bit more fun and propel more players into the raid / trials IMO. It sounds like Bungie is addressing solo vs stacked teams here in the upcoming TWAB as well as explaining how the new ranked playlist is going to work in more detail.

Also, here's what they said in the TWAB last week about increasing light level over time.

"Our target is that players who participate in all the weekly activities should take several weeks to reach the hard cap. Raids/Trials grant the largest increases, clan engrams provide very small increases, and the other weekly sources fall between those two. Players who don't participate in any group weekly activities are unlikely to hit the hard cap before the next release; dedicated omnivore players will hit it before players that just play Raids or Trials exclusively. Additionally, the final 10 points from 370 to 380 will be significantly slower than 340 to 370; we expect it to take players roughly equal time to go from 340 to 370 as from 370 to 380. We decided to make this change because climbing to 370 allows you to tackle endgame content without suffering a severe under level penalty, but creates a significant accomplishment in achieving 380."

Depending how much the dmg penalty is from 370-385 I might have to start doing those things or if they make level advantages a thing again in the Iron Banner. The only reason I ever tried to get to max LL in D1 was due to the handicap you came across in year one Iron Banner. With me always being one short on max LL due to me not raiding, doing trials, or Lvl 35 PoE you don't have that in D2 as of now.

I thought the improvements coming in a few weeks looked good, and am even more excited for the fall expansion. Most of my clan and friends don't play this game much anymore, which means I don't either except for one night per week where I do a lot of the weekly shit and stop. If it weren't for the tokens I wouldn't even be doing the nightfall. I hope that changes.

A couple guys in our clan are amped up for this expansion, but I am personally just Meh about it.

Probably because (I'm guessing) about 95% of their playerbase abandoned the game.

"Meh" is 100% the correct amount of hype until Bungie delivers and proves otherwise. It's worth noting that the content creators got to play some of the Warmind DLC and "Meh" seems to be their opinion as well. I did just read up on the new PvP stuff and for the hardcore PvP guys (on console at least) it sounds like it could be a good amount of fun. I think the PC crowd has abandoned this game and wont' come back... right now the population is so low that many people playing Trials get matched against the same team 4-5 times per 7 games. haha

I am slightly interested in playing a bit but I am too lazy to dust out my Destiny 2 disk. I am more worried that i'll load up the game fuck around for 20 mins and then turn that shit off...

I'm not giving them another red cent till I hear some reviews to be honest. Normally I don't trust reviews but in this case I am sick of handing them money. I am getting my FPS fix with CoD and Doom, so I'm not desperate. The old days of Crota and Oryx slaying are gone and I doubt they can bring that feeling of camaraderie back.

Unfortunately I was an idiot and bought the "deluxe" edition which had the expansion pass so I've already bought the Warmind DLC. I'm still really turned off towards Destiny and I agree that it's not likely the love affair I had with D1 will ever return with D2.
