WTF is with refs? Li should have got 2 points taken away immediately.

We never ever see a point deduction and this makes dudes like Li and Bones dirty because there are no consequences. Somebody will eventually end up blinded. Bisping already has problems with his vision.

I was cringing at the TV. It’s annoying that fighters get told rules backstage, and as professional fighters they should know by now what they can and can’t do. In this case should’ve definitely been points taken rather than just warning him

Never heard of the guy, maybe Dana should step up cut him.
Imagine if opponent was blinded for life in a cage fight and ref didn't do shit worst case scenario.

It was egregious, malicious, salacious, OUTRAGEOUS!

The ref should have removed the hand, then as soon as Li escaped, stood them up and deducted a point.
It's to late now, to many inexperienced mma refs and shit commissions.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

The gouge happened literally in the middle of a submission

The announcers nailed the call live, if you pull a clear foul like gouging while on the recieving end of a submission you forfeit

Standing the fighters up at the point of the foul would have effectively pulled Li out of a guillotine whether it was going anywhere or not

So aside from standing the fighters up with a warning (or point deduction) only to literally reset the fighters back down in a submission position, that fight should have been a forfeit for Li

You don't get any sympathy for fouling while being squeezed, that's like the whole biting during submissions controversies
