Does beer taste better from a bottle or a can?

Well done with ketchup

Tap is good IF the beer is fresh and it's quality beer.
shit beer from a tap is still shit beer.

that being said, glass is always better than cans. the metal can impart impurities that ruin flavor whereas
glass does not do that.

and amber glass is always better than clear glass as well.
Cans have improved greatly and no longer impart metal flavor to the beer.

Can or bottle being better depends on the style of beer. Glass, even amber glass, lets in light which breaks down hop oils and hurts the flavor and aroma.

Cans or kegs are best for hoppy beers.
Malty or balanced beers are pretty much the same from a can or a bottle.
Saisons, lambics, and gueuze actually benefit from a light struck note from going into green bottles. These styles are almost always better from a green bottle than from a brown bottle or a keg.

Clear glass is absolutely the worst packaging for beer. Gruits may be the only style that aren't harmed from clear glass too much, but there still is no benefit to using clear.

But yes, pour the beer into a glass either way.

hohner, you bastard.
where you been?
good to see ya.

the stouts and porters I buy are all in dark glass and taste delicious.

I prefer bottles, but I like Guinness in a can If a glass isn't handy.

If it's from a tap, doesn't that just mean a big can.

Depends.

Glass is inert. Bottled commercial beer always tastes better.

Homebrew always tastes better from the tap. You have much more of it at your disposal.

Stouts and dark beers are generally better served from a bottle, but with cans now there shouldn't be too big of a difference.

No, the way a keg and a can is filled is different. Canning can easily lead to oxidation and they cant hold the same pressure as a keg so you can have kegged beer at a higher carbonation.

Not always true, due to what I said above.

Makes the beer too salty

<{clintugh}>

A bottle.... but the real secret is which ever is colder.

When it just starts forming ice Crystals

Obviously cans. The beer seems colder in a can too.
