Does Read Dead Redemption 2 Feel Like A Crossover Of These 2 Games?

The game is awesome. I think it has gameplay elements of two of my favorite games, and to me plays like a crossover of Far Cry Primal (hunting, camp, and open wilderness environment), and GTA (obvious reasons).

I know coming from Rockstar the GTA comparison was an easy one to make. However, anyone who plays the Far Cry games, specifically Primal, get the same impression?

I understand that there isn't too much completely new under the sun, but can anyone else see the similarities?

Are there any other games that Red Dead Redemption 2 arguably likens itself too?
