Why do so many people put a $ after the price nowadays, like 10$. Assuming you saw prices on things since you were a kid and never saw it like that on anything ever, why would you write it like that?

I believe people just utilize the symbol as a hyphenated texting word. $=dollar so 10$=10 dollars if you read it in a linearly. Those people are retarded mouth breathers, but that’s the thought process.
 
The ¢ symbol throws me off because I want to be it before like the $ symbol.
 
Russian/Ukrainian I think. I have some close friends that are, and they're used to writing that way so it carries over out of habit
