Barboza wants to be the best so goddamn bad. It's so evident.

Loses to Khabib and not only accepts a fight 3 months after that brutal loss but accepted a fight against a wrestler, not just any wrestler but a top 5 guy.

If Baboza wins where does that put him? He will have lost to the 2 of the 3 kings of LW. Won't fight Eddie. It's tricky.

Yeah the danger of combat sports is that professional athletes don't stop fighting even when they know that it's time to quit.

But hey, MMA is still a young sport and we haven't seen what most of these guys look like in their 60s and 70s yet.

Randy still seems to be pretty articulate in his 50s. Guys like Wanderlei and Hunt though are not so lucky.
Well it gets to a point where you suffer back to back KO losses like Chuck Liddell. That's when you stop. One loss even 2 losses, close losses, doesn't matter you gotta get back on it. It's like Werdums last fight. He lost but he was competitive and showed he can still hang. People like BJ Penn, perfectly example he needed to quit. Gray Maynard is another one who comes to mind etc. Chuck quit before it got ridiculous. I think Hunt needs to retire. He's 43. Overeem is getting close as well.

This one time.... a guy named Mirko Cro Cop wrekt and finished a guy named Wanderlei Silva and Josh Barnett. On the same night.

10 years later at age 42 he KOed King Mo. Just 2 days later he fought and KO’ed 3 more guys on the same night including a 400 pound
behemoth.

Look, that was a great performance by Khabib, but it wasn't even close to being the most damage that Barboza has taken in his career.

Did anybody actually watch that fight? Barboza, like Iaquinta, was able stuff Khabib in the third round. He got outstuck because he was afraid of the TD (also like Iaquinta) but he wasn't dead out there.

Barboza took a lot more damage in the first round against Danny Castillo, which was a fight that he ended up winning, than he did in the entire fight against Khabib.

I don't believe Barboza was ever hurt in the fight. Khabib wasn't throwing down fight enders like Jeremy Stephens. He wears out people with top pressure and the stress of carrying his weight while being constantly punched in the face. Probably took more damage in the Ferguson fight.

They fight for a living... Plus most say that getting right back in there helps after a loss.
