Emulators

Yeah screw Nintendo for this one. Luckily I have most of the old games I play already downloaded. The main thing that sucks is the old JRPGs that didn't get a chance for fan translations.

Who likes emulators and what are your favorite distributions and accompanying roms?

I was bummed to see my favorite site(emuparadise) for roms and emulators is no longer offering downloads after 18years online.:(

Oof. I almost bought a Sega Genesis the other day with Zombies Ate my Neighbors. They have plug ins now that can connect old consoles through to new tvs. That sucks though. I haven't used emulators in years because my computer is trash for the most part.

I haven't been to an emulation site in years, but I did use a torrent to download some arcade roms that I needed to play online on Fightcade. I'm sure I have all the console roms that I wanted, but if not there's always torrents.

I just did a google search and found nes emulators and roms. Emuparadise still appears to be functioning.

The site is there but if you try to download a game it says it's unavailable.

Can't someone make a Go Fund Me to get a legit licensed fan translation?

I think I saw something on TV where a large group of people from around the world in Japan go to great lengths and spend a lot of their own money to acquire old games and arcade boards and sound tapes to digitize and preserve a huge variety of video games.

Fortunately I ransacked the site before it went down.

Emulators that I use the most:

CEMU (Nintendo WiiU)
PCSX2 (PS2)
DEMUL (Dreamcast)

I have a retro pie bartop arcade that I got recently that I play emulators though. A friend of mine actually built a few of these and I bought one from him.

The marquees weren't quite finished when he took this picture, but he put a bezel around where the light shines through. I bought the one on the left.

As far as getting roms here is a couple of sites that I use that have every thing and it's just a list of zip files. Unlike emuparadise you don't have any captchas or pop ups to deal with either.

This one is for Consoles, Hand-helds, and PC roms...

And this is the one I us for Mame. It can be kind of tricky as you only get the file names, but most are self explanatory; and even if you're curious to what a rom might be, just do a google search of the file name.

No more dropping down a list but they are still out there. Torrent sites etc.

I really want to play fight night 2004 but haven't found a good way to emulate it yet.

I downloaded something a while ago but it wouldn't cap the cycle time and it ran at triple speed.

Pretty much all emulators require a great deal of setting up to run properly.

I followed this guys guide and have no issues running PS2 games, in fact they look better than they ever had.

Cheers man, I'll have another go at it

Oh btw, much trouble getting a controller to work? Kind of imperitive for fight night.

if you are using an emulator and have purchased a game legally in the past you are not commiting a crime. Most people dont know that.

input, make sure your computer recognizes the controller first, then you have to configure. usually its as simple as "click on the button" and thats it.

i would be the weird guy that sits down and fights that kid at Street Fighter 2

There's still at least 4 or 5 fully functioning ROM sites with every NES/SNES/N64 game on it.

Look into Retroarch and how to set it up, has dozens of emulators for every system you can imagine. Its like a program that has all the emulators available and you download the ones you want to use. Also has a shit ton of customization options
