“His chief promises were that he would build the wall, defund planned parenthood and repeal Obamacare, and he hasn’t done any of those things,” Carlson said.

...

I don’t think he’s capable of sustained focus. I don’t think he understands the system. I don’t think the Congress is on his side. I don’t think his own agencies support him.”

While Trump has asked some questions that he thinks needed to be asked, such as: “Why don’t our borders work?” and “What’s the point of Nato?” Carlson said he has done nothing to follow through on them once they have been posed.

Why not? Because legislating is too complex for Trump to grasp.

In order to pass legislation, “you really have to understand how it works and you have to be very focused on getting it done, and he knows very little about the legislative process, hasn’t learned anything, and surrounded himself with people that can get it done, hasn’t done all the things you need to do so. It’s mostly his fault that he hasn’t achieved those things,” he said.

Well what do you know, a brief peek outside the bubble.

It's a big world out here, Fox

I saw this earlier.

He sounds exactly like me starting about a year and a half ago. He's trying to wake up the base before it's too late:

By far the most significant warning he issued:
WaPo said:
For starters, he called Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her socialist group “the future.” He also criticized the Republican Party, suggesting that it “will die” if it doesn’t begin to fairly represent middle-class American voters.

“The elite in our country is physically separated in a way that’s very unhealthy for a democracy,” he said. Rural America is “really falling apart,” he added, noting that “if you’re running the country, you should have a sense of that."

Thing is, how did he NOT know this stuff already about DJT??

It's going to be amazing seeing how Trump supporters react to prominent Republicans distancing themselves from Trump.

I'm thinking the reason he hasn't achieved his transformational agenda items is because a) the system is preventing him or b) he's part that system and not actually trying to achieve these things. Could be a mixture of both.

If competency was the issue then what's everyone elses excuse for not solving any of these issues or achieving the agenda items they campaigned on?

Imagine how far down the rabbit hole you would need to be for Tucker Carlson to represent the gateway drug to reality.

Trump is not a strategic long term thinker and is too stubborn to admit when he is wrong this is what prevents him from achieving long term goals.

A skilled campaigner but a poor strategist.

That's all pretty scathing, but how can anybody be surprised? From the very start, and I'm talking the start of the campaign, it was brutally obvious that he had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. He was lost in the debates, often rambling incoherently without answering the question. He was lost in interviews, doing the same. His saving grace was the fact that his supporters liked his extremely generalized stances, and got a kick out of his immaturity. Anybody who expected him to suddenly show competency in understanding policy or how government works was being overly optimistic. There were no signs to indicate he was going to be capable of sustained focus or effective governing. He couldn't even remain focused for long enough to give coherent answers to single questions at times.

No its not the system that is blocking him and no Trump was never really part of the system.

Trumps simply lacks the long tem strategic skill and is not a good enough politician to make his goals into reality.

So why the fuck is it taking so long for people to come around to what was obvious?

Because it was. I knew as a kid in NYC in 1978 that Donald Trump's investors got fleeced and knew what an NDA was because he was a famously litigious little bitch.

I don't understand how people ever thought he was capable or honest, and never will

Due to the lack of an actual counter argument I am going to have to stand by my original statement.

When he took office, he had control of senate and house. Wouldnt that have been the best time to accomplish this? What better system could he have?
