Looks like half way/incomplete european hooks. How common are they in elite boxing? Was he the only one employing them? More specifically: Foreman threw vertical crosses to the body instead of actual hooks. Did it a lot against Ali. They look like a European hook thrown vertically.

So he basically mixed the hook and cross punch in one. Elbow was usually vertical, not horisontal to the ground like a standard hook. But it could travel in both a horizontal and vertical trajectory when he threw them.
