It was optional in PRIDE to either wear something or not , unlike in the UFC ( unless if referring to early era UFC ) , Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman wore shoes also.

He's up there with Tyson, Nas, Arguello, Hug as one of my all time favorite fighters outside of MMA
