Had to quit. The base of the back of my neck was still messed up and my one working set finished it off with an explosion. The pain is pretty freaking bad, feeling like it could be an upper thoracic or cervical disc issue.... vicodin didn't even help me sleep Saturday night. Strange thing is I have no idea how this all started. I blame it on William Gholston.

That was said tongue-in-cheek. I read mgoblog pretty regularly and was pretty disappointed that my fellow Michigan fans could not let it go. I was all aboard the Gholston hate train during the game, but come on, give it up after six or seven days.
 
OK, good to hear...obviously it was a very stupid thing to do, but to hear some people talk, that incident was infinitely more significant than the the actual game.

Not to mention the fact that dirty stuff like that happens all the time in football...for example, one of my Packers took a blatant upkick to the groin yesterday. "It happens" isn't an excuse, but people should hardly be aghast when it does.
 
I am also fighting with similar neck pain. MAde me unable to overheadpress for a while. Very, very anoying. What helps tremendously is forcefully streching my rhomboids after each training.
Definatelly felt like someone stabbed me in the neck/thoracic spine, head felt kind of unstable on my neck and now it seems like all of this is just caused or mainly caused by some hardcore muscle tightness. MAybe there is some more to it but at the moment I feel so much better just from the stretching that I just don't care. I mean, even if there is a disc issue, surgery on your thoracic or cervical spine should really only be the last option.
MAybe that helps...
