I was shocked to see that price. It's like $120 more than some of the .40 p226 police trade ins.

Yeah that's nuts. Honestly, buying that .40 and just swapping out the barrel/recoil spring will do the trick. New mags too. I doubt that'd be over 300 dollars to convert it

I got a P226 in .40 off my of SGM for $400 a few years back. Was down at the Sig Academy a month or two ago and picked up a 9mm kit. Turned out it was a great deal with the in-store discount. Came with an elite slide and an extra mag. I grabbed a threaded 9mm barrel at the discount while I was there.

Now I have 2 p226's in 9mm. One with a threaded barrel. But WTF?!?! Why 13.5LH threads?!?!?! Now I gotta buy another piston for a can.

Also grabbed an E2 grip kit for one to see if I liked it. And of course, I need a shortened mainspring. Another $8.

These fucking guns are nickel and diming me to death.

People can’t rave enough about how good their XTR line of long range tactical scopes are. Those prism scopes though I’m not sure.

I know my dad has an old Burris and another old Bushnell on two rifles he got over 30 years ago and they both still hold zero and are tanks.

im actually looking for a similar scope as the vortex strike eagle 1-6 and primary arms 1-6 for my AR, but budget is a lil tight right now, any suggestion for a good scope like the reticles of the vortex and pa?

It's really hard to beat the quality you get from Vortex for the price you pay.

Their Viper PST line for example is $1000 or so so it's not cheap. But the features you get from the zero stop to FFP and the clearness of their glass from Nightforce or another competitor you'd be paying twice that.

I've got a strike eagle 1-6. It's a really good optic, very clear except right at the edge of view (and even then you'll only notice that if you're comparing it back to back with more expensive glass). People complain about a slight tint in the glass from the coating but I've never noticed it. It is a tank and holds zero very well. Like Gregolian said it's almost impossible to beat Vortex in terms of price and what you get.

The only thing that I don't like about it is there are no off stops in between brightness settings, so you have to cycle to your desired brightness every time you use it. Not a big deal at all. I'm not the biggest fan of BDC reticles but the Vortex one is pretty nice, and I do like being able to use the subtensions to rangefind on the fly. I wish the 'halo' lines were a little more thin, but that's just personal preference and they aren't really in the way.

If the Strike Eagle is out of your budget I'd recommend saving until you can get one. You get to jump into a good class of optics for less money with the Vortexes.

Another one to look into is the Atibal XP6. It is a FFP scope, which imo is better than 2nd focal plane. I think optics planet has them for $353 shipped right now. I've seen them slightly lower but not by much.

Edit actually DVOR would get it to you for $345 shipped right now.
