Why does babe get shit on for being in old era
Obviously big enough and skilled to compete
Level of competition is basically what these many posts were about. He put up big numbers against shitty competition.

How heavy was Barry Bonds' bat during his big time HR days? I think he choked the bat too.

I think bonds used a 31 as well. He was so fucking big though that it looked like a twig in his hands lol.

As a non American I only recognize Babe Ruth. Smh, embarrassing.

edit: and Barry Bonds, missed that one at first.

You got to remember that guys playing today have been playing against better competition their whole lives. The go to camps, etc...

If Ruth came up in today's game, he'd get the same training. When you're like 8 standard deviations above your average competition, you just can't dismiss that. He'd probably do almost as well as he did in his era.

It's a lame argument to say the era was worse.

Please explain why so many modern elite HS and college players who have access to these "camps" fail to have significant success in minor leagues or big leagues. Why so many 1st round picks fail even though so much money was invested in them.

It is unknown how Babe Ruth would do against modern players, but he sure won't dominate like vs. shitty whites only players.

Huh? Because they're not good, that's why.

Babe Ruth was good. He most likely had better hand/eye coordination than 99% of the players who play today. Why he wouldn't adapt and thrive in the modern game doesn't make sense.

If it was easy to hit against shitty white only players then everyone would have done what Babe did. How much better are you then your peers is the only way to judge different generations.

Babe by far

Lol at a guy who’s not even in the HOF leading the poll

Which is it? A player is good out of the womb or these magical sports camps and competing against higher competition transforms any schmuck into an elite big league player? You're contradicting yourself.

I'm not contradicting anything. You were saying that his era was weak. The reason why this era is stronger is because of the focus and the different pathway to the majors. If Ruth did that, he would still be great in this era because he would go through the system in the same manner.

All this steroid talk.

Swinging the old tooth pick.

Comparing hitters in different era is difficult to do, not just discounting pitchers.
