GTA Online discussion, v8: Return of the Frank. Find Dr. Dre's phone on Dec. 15th

I think Smuggler's Run and State of Emergency were my first two R* games.

Time to try this at some point I suppose.

Saw an ad for a new DLC called Smuggler's Run. Looks like gunrunning/CEO type stuff just with planes.

The new Smugglers Run DLC looks like its gonna be a lot of fun.

If you wanna do heists I am down. I got an APC and a Insurgent Custom to use now.

The drunk trick doesn't work anymore :(.

With the new dlc, it's an uneasy online setup. On the one hand, you have a freemode work (and raids) spike in activity, which is fun for pvp and crew battles, but on the other hand you have crews putting increasing pressure on their recruits to grind 3.5 mil aircraft goals in lobbies populated with rival orgs

I'm immune to all the tough-love recruiting out there as a level 370+ but lately i've been seeing a lot of miserable new players being forced to grind shitty 30 minute per piece stock/restock for 5k, 8k pay, from the moment they log on to the moment they log off. No fun switch-up missions, no creator missions, no freemode shopping or stunts or racing or lighthearted goofy adversary stuff, just grim hangar/gun run grinds endlessly

Pretty gross

no one does regular races any more. stunt races are boring and repetitive.

the new DLC is too expensive. either have to grind or buy a shark card.

want the rocket voltic, parachute car, jet bike and all the new air vehicles? you'll only be able to afford two at most. after grinding. then you buy em and back to grinding. hell, I'd get a shark card if I knew my items would transfer over to GTA6 but you know that won't happen so why the fuck put more money into a 5 year old game on it's way to being obsolete. plus, the actual sandbox feels so small now and no longer exciting.

I feel ya. The grind is ridiculous and the stupid drip feeding of vehicles. Ther are still 9 more god damn vehciles to come out, I am just grinding till the hangars go on sale I have no reason to buy one. I can just spawn in a Buzzard if i need a quick air vehicle.

The formula is never going to change its proven successful. I can see more of the same on RDR2.

If they don't have liar's dice i don't want to live on this planet anymore

A billionaire tech mogul, an idealistic intelligence agent, a socially awkward conspiracy theorist and a neurotic supercomputer have been forced into an unlikely alliance to save San Andreas from total annihilation. As apocalyptic threats mount from enemies unknown, you and your criminal crew are enlisted to un-tangle mysteries and eradicate threats spanning from the bustling streets of downtown Los Santos to the ocean floor and all the way to the inner depths of Mount Chiliad in an epic new online adventure.

The Doomsday Heist is coming to Grand Theft Auto Online on December 12th.

All aboard the hype train! New DLC coming to GTA:O and new heist! Jetpacks, new tank, air MoC, James Bond Esprit, new mk. II weapons, clothes, and so much more!

Is this the final big DLC and swan song for GTA:O before R* fully commits to Red Dead??

EDIT: I know this game is kind of dead on here but this is a significant update and could be the last big DLC we see for this game and it's not a derivitive cash grab DLC like the last few have been. With rinse/repeat collection and sell in public session business opportunities that R* likes to copy/paste.

While this thread is still fresh, I have a major problem with the personal vehicle restrictions

Practically no one ever takes aim at the "one vehicle at a time" rule in freemode - something I run afoul of every time i spawn a garage vehicle to drive to my personal aircraft

Why in the fuck are we kept from having two cars (or vehicle/aircraft combos) out in the map?

Rockstar throwing the kitchen sink into this game before Red Dead is their sole focus. Gonna have to dust off my copy of GTAV and dive in.

Did the first two out of the new three Doomsday Heists.

My only gripe are the forced freeroam prep missions which feel like a tedious and annoying timewaste when you want to just jump into the normal Setup and Heist missions.

It's been fun otherwise. I'll finish up what seems to be a long setup of the final Doomsday Heist, complete it, and then probably not play this game for the forseeable future.

I won’t play it because of the free roam bullshit

Was about to dust off GTA and reinstall it for the new heist...but this free roam nonsense turned me off completely. Oh well, back to Overwatch.

i just started GTA last month and im already a millionaire. and i dont even know what i am doing half the time. one of my friends has a warehouse full of batmobiles.

Some of the set-up missions are boring slogs like the protect ULP one. I hate escort missions especially when you have to use a shit anti-air truck. Others are tough grinds. That Avenger mission in act II at the hangar is ridiculous, as is the save agent 14 one in act III. R* makes you pay for all the ammo you have to expend on the
cloaked Juggernauts
too.

If the prep missions didn't exist they would be better though, no doubt. It's just too time consuming. They are easy enough it's just a huge time sink. I cheaped out and got the Paleto Bay facility and having to deliver all the way up there really sucks. They are basic go here, fetch this, bring it back missions. No originality. Not the best way to make money in GTA Online. Still would rather grind Pac Standard.

I have one set-up left to go and I can do the act III finale.
