Has Colby Covington actually generated money with his trash talking?

I don't see what his payout has been for the last few cards, and the buyrate for his interim title fight seemed very low at 250k. But I don't have all the numbers.

He is sealing his spot on big brother sooo

Yes, but not much.

Now if he can get himself on the bachelorette that is a different story.

Big MONEY!

He made 71k for his fight with DHK (33k/33k plus reebok)
He made 83k for his fight with Maia (39k/39k plus reebok)
He made 380k for his fight with RDA (350k show plus 30k for fight week)

So, I would say yes the trash talk paid off.

He's made a lot of noise within the MMA buble, but as far as I'm aware, hasn't really made any progress outside it. His twitter/instagram numbers, which are fairly good indicators of mainstream popularity, are not all that high.

This, 380k for RDA and you can expect that he’ll get 500k for the Woodley fight.

#NerdBash2018 has already been a success for him. If he someone beats Woodley there is no doubt all this cringe was worth it.

Probably for the best because if the general Star Wars audience had read his spoilers he'd be hiding out in Brazil right now

Fighting for the title helped him get paid, but the trash talk for sure didn't hurt.

Has nerd bash been a success though? He still has an embarrassing amount of followers. He was stripped instantly after being interm champion because he didnt generate enough attention. Him getting a big pay day for a title fight is sweet though. But honestly the guys got a good style to beat lots of WW. I think he would have got that money and that fight without embarrassing himself and the 12 fans who think nerdbash isnt actually about them.

99% of sherdog had never heard of him prior to the boomerang incident.

Not really. He’s undoubtedly a good fighter though so that helped propel him into better paying matches. He’s not exactly clever so I doubt people are tuning in to see what he has to say.

He's made me more interested in a scrap between him and Woodley, so I think he's doing pretty well.

He just doesn't have 'it'
He has been reduced to trolling the libs and trying to win over Trump supporters. Authentic trash talkers like Conor, Floyd and Tyson Fury would never be so desperate.

I don't think so. Yeah, he generated discussion on MMA message board, but do I think it translates into significant PPV buys? No.

He's probably spent everything he has on those porn stars that wouldn't have sex with him.

His numbers arent good yet but maybe he can fake it till he makes it like what Danis is trying to do

And people say that titles/interim titles don't mean anything anymore... Looks like they mean something when it comes time to talk about money

But that's all they mean.

This.

I doubt that anyone besides serious MMA fans even knows or cares who he is.
