MMA just seems so dull and doesnt seem as exciting. Is USADA killing the sport ? Or is it the Fertitta brothers leaving the sport to Dana White?

I blame Sherdog. It keeps telling us that the UFC is dying even though we keep on getting exciting fights like this Saturday.

It is now official. Meltzer has confirmed: UFC is dying
One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered MMA community when Meltzer confirmed that PPV numbers have dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 30 percent of the golden era. Coming on the heels of a recent ESPN survey which plainly states that UFC has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. UFC is collapsing in complete disarray, as fittingly exemplified by failing dead last PPV.
You don't need to be the Amazing Kreskin [amazingkreskin.com] to predict UFC future. The hand writing is on the wall: UFC faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for UFC because UFC is dying. Things are looking very bad for the UFC. As many of us are already aware, UFC continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood.

The sudden and unpleasant departures of long time stars Conor McGregor and Jon Jones only serve to underscore the point more clearly. There can no longer be any doubt: UFC is dying.

The sports are dying in general man , the world is dying bro look into it

I blame it the growth of the UFC. The UFC previously had to put on great cards or blockbuster fights regularly to keep it's fanbase happy and hungry. With exposure though and the expansion of the business is more about quantity over quality. Dilluted product because of oversaturation but the UFC itself is making more money than ever.

It like when you first start a little restaurant and you only buy the best vegetables, cheeses, meats, ect because you need to make the best tasting product ever. But then you get investors and grow to 3 stores then all the sudden you have 50 stores in 6 states. Now you're not looking for the best product as much as you're looking for the best product at the most cost efficient price. You went from making the tomatoe cucumber salad in store to having it shipped in via 3 party because it was more cost effective.

Thats not football , the real football is what you call soccer lol thats the sport who players play with their feet
Football is turning into soccer with all these new rules designed to take hitting out the game.

It's football. How the hell are you going to try and reduce hitting in a sport where people are either hitting or being hit constantly?

I dont understand much of that sport man , until some years before i thought it was the same as rugby.

MMA is in a transition period, there's no stars right now to bring the casuals in. It will pass and the Colby Covingtons and Mike Perrys of mma will go back to the under card.

Nees flash: Most normal people don't like fighting.

Even at the height of it's popularity, only like 2% of the population considered boxing their favorite sport.

1. Growing too fast and needing more and more fighters and events is diluting the product.
2. Illegal streaming
3. Rankings have caused fighters to worry more about fighting guys who can elevate their spot than the best matchups/ fights for fans.
