Holy Cow! Craig Jones Just Tapped Shields

Except no one knows what he tested for. It could be as harmless as weed or DHEA or a diuretic or anabolic.

Tree stump finger banged both eyes
Shields said he yesyte positive for a diuretic, which means he was roiding as that was a fighfiat 185 and after it Shields immediately went back to 170. Not something anyone would do if they needed a diuretic to make 185. Would be something someone would do if they needed a masking agent to hide their steroid usage to keke from bbein undersized when moving up a weightclass.

To all of you guys saying Jake shields got tapped because he is an "old school guy" and "old school guys ignored leg locks":

You must be noobs to not know about Jake shields and the first batch of Cesar Gracie black belts. They were the first guys to leg lock in bjj. Jake and the soul assassin

The reason why guys are getting submitted is not because it is leg locks. It is because for the first time leg lock entries are coming from the guard with the same control and securing of the limb like upper body attacks. That is something that is new to bjj. Advanced control and leg lock entries from the bottom. Before it was usually from the top position and guys were dropping into them or scrambling into them.

Exactly, bjj has evolved so much than modern bjj leg lockers are the best leg lockers among all styles, this is due to the guard, and how bjj guys have adapted entries to leglocks from guard without restoring to scrambles... spot on nefti

Nice, Shields was really screwed as soon as he got swept.

Diuretic use doesn't always mean steroid use. Maybe he was having a hard time cutting the weight, or he was using anabolics. Until they actually divulge the results, we won't know for certain

Common sense would debunk that theory based on the fact that Shields fought at 170 prior to his move to 185, and immediately after failing that test for his fight at 185 he moved back down to 170. Someone having a hard time cutting the weight at 185 wouldn't leave the comfort of the 185 division to cut an additional 15 lbs if he was having trouble cutting weight to fight at 185.

It's obvious Shields was roiding for that fight and I'm saying that as a Shields fan.

He had better success at 170 than at 185 if I recall correctly. That could be the reason for going back down.

really want to see him tap gordon ryan

he was awesome at ADCC

I don’t thinks that’s going to happen, no one is leglocking Gordon, or Gary or edddie or as a matter of fact any of the dds boys

Steroids are anabolic(s) it's the same thing.

Meh shields is shot
Was this thread in the heavies and got moved to the grappling forum?

Shields is doing quite well in professional grappling. He beat Dillon Danis at SUG and subbed Lyoto Machida. He had an awesome match against AJ Agazarm at Polaris.

He's training with the premier team for no-gi jiu-jitsu/submission grappling right now and is adding some unique elements to his game. The main thing the team had added to Jake's game is heel hook offense and defense and that's what Craih Jones subbed him with.

Impressive feat by Craig Jones. Even when Shields isn't being offensive he's not easy to submit.

I forgot how he subbed him, but I was surprised. But he did flying triangle someone.
Murilo Santana. Super impressive feat.
