How about this idea for a UFC PPV

Someone has been watching the tournament episodes from Dragon Ball Z

Good luck getting fighters to agree to fights without knowing who they're fighting.

Conor always says he trains for a fight and not fighter . Take that approach .

It would be different. it'd be like Christmas. You don't know what you're gonna get. You don't see Santa on CNN talking about gifts do you? People love surprises. The unknown is exciting.

I don't see Santa trying to sell PPV based on no info either

Santa?

Really?

Again, fun idea but horrendous for business.

Conor won't even accept a fight when he knows who the opponent is, nevermind accepting a fight blind. Maybe not the best example to use here.

You know that is BS, right?
He trained for Diaz specifically in the return bout. He admitted it.

B.S or not they should all be ready for any fighter fight night. It's not like there's possibility for an opponent to show up on skates with a hockey stick... just get good at stand up/grappling/wrestling that's it....

Next tip don't form your thread title as a Query.
Its obvious you only want people to say its a great idea.

But it is a horrendous business decision.

Enjoy the day though.

They all make weight? How does that work if they don't know who they are fighting? So MM has to make 125 not knowing Stipe has to make 265 and Yoel has to make 190?

They could give it one of those old UFC event names like Battle of the Bantamweights, The Welterweight War, Middleweight Mayhem, etc.

As a consumer it sounds quite fun and interesting but I don't know how many more people (if any increase) would buy into that concept and tune in that weren't going to tune in to see all of those guys in pre-set matches anyway

You lose the chance to promote and probably end up with not that much extra interest in the end product

No one would buy that ppv.

Wrestling tried it several times with both WCW & WWF/E & the "unknown" sold horrible.

People get excited for fights/matchups.
The buzz is the fans talking about match-ups for two months & arguing & making predictions.

It hurts the fan buzz & the advertising buzz with media.

Again, a fun idea but not smart for business & WME & Investors are about business over fun
