How can UFC keep the best fighters?

They have 90% of the best fighters in the world. But the veterans will soon retire (many of them got the legacy built in pride, strikeforce, old ufc).

I noticed they are trying to get the champs from other organizations, such as KSW, Pancrase, Deep etc, but they dont have success. This is maybe because UFC already attracts the best fighters, but they lack of stars.

IMO, trying to promote fighters like Gastelum by beating old guys as Vitor or Anderson is wrong. They should really build rivalries between the newcomers. For example at welterweight, between Wonderboy, Ponzinibbio, Platinum, Usman, Darren Till.

How was Pride able to create stars?

Still not convinced the UFC is letting these fighters go do to pay. They can afford them and damn well know they are too ten or even five in some cases over the last couple years.

The UFC is in a huge lawsuit that could cost them millions. Big part of their defence is trying to prove they are NOT a monopoly and a fighter has options out there to make a good living other than being in the UFC. By letting a few top fighters go to Bellator or One FC for good pay... showing it's even more than the UFC will pay.. Will only help the UFC in court. I think this is one good reason the UFC is letting some top fighters go right now.. It certainly didn't happen much before the lawsuit was filed.

Just a theory. Perhaps after the thing is over we will see if the UFC gets more aggressive trying to keep some fighters.
