If you noticed lately the ufc has been managing to push top kickboxers or strikers to get the belt or fight for it.

They do this by paving the path of these guy with mma fighters that mainly practice defensive wrestling/grappling basically okayish strikers that dont get taken down and can scramble with top grapplers but they never use their grappling to take down people and are rusty in that department

this way strikers that would get finished in 20 seconds normally fighting their way to the title manage to ride a few wins then get dana white privilege to fight for the belt, this also gives the UFC the double benefit of having big names in kickboxing have time to practice their grappling and fight top 10 fighters that cant offensively grapple at the same time and generate revenue.

I haven't noticed that. They are pushing alot of grapplers as well.

If you're talking about Pereira, it's not because he’s a striker. It's because of his history with Izzy. Then he became a champ and quickly a household name.

love the grade A braindead sherdog posts

You talk a paragraph of garbage, yet not at any point do you name a single example, a single fighter (past or present) you just present to us the deluded theory in your head. No other facts like % strikers or time for striker to get the belt vs other styles, etc

Nothing.

Congratz!!!! - You've earned your sherdog brown belt.

Its mostly in the heavier divisions where its possible mostly pereira gane izzy too in the beginning but now he adapted his defensive grappling well. Many will come now from kickboxing just watch insane kos and name but 0 offensive grapplers that would finish them fast

Gane is a bad example. They didn't protect him or anything. He was going into a title eliminator between the winner of Black Beast and Blaydes. BB won so he moved on to fight Gane.

Alex might be a valid accusation. I always felt the promotion gave him favorable matchups but the champion wanted that challenger. Izzy was never protected. He got Vettori and Brunson within his first 5 fights.

Jailton & Blanchfield are pretty grappling-heavy and they're getting a pretty solid push each.

Rinat's first 2 fights were extremely grappling heavy and they gave him a showcase fight vs a name with Lee.

Tried pushing Romanov but he fell on his face. Suarez got a big push before injuries. Bryce Mitchell until Topuria stopped him.

Merab should also be mentioned, as he could possibly be fighting for the belt right now if he wanted to. They gave him the Aldo showcase(which stunk) & THEN a main event.

Nah it’s 2023. If you’re exciting or make money you’re fine.
If there we a grappler slamming dudes out cold in the first round he’d also be pushed to the top
