How was Anderson Silva considered GOAT when he had no legit ground game?

He set the template for a strong wrestler with top BJJ as being the way to beat Anderson, fortunately there weren't many guys in the MW division with those skills.
Yeah their were plenty of them in his title run. Nate Marquadt, Yushin Okami, Chael, Dan Henderson, Demian Maia...

No legit ground game? The dude was a BJJ black belt.

A better question would be how the fuck are you even able to operate a computer well enough to post on these forums when you are a complete fucking idiot?

He was a top-notch striker, no doubt. But he always had known weakness. You knew he was in trouble when a good wrestler takes him down. I always believed GSP had legit arguments as GOAT more than Silva. Even Jon Jones has better arguments with how well-rounded his game is, whether stand up striking or wrestling/BJJ.

In before triggered Conor's dick riders get triggered. Anderson has a more advanced ground game than Conor

He's not considered GOAT tho. Fedor and GSP crush him in every single fan poll for years now.

Is anderson the only person to ever get a ko in high lvl competition from the back? He's the only I know of, that's not what you call bad ground game

The guy who lost his fight before this one?
Was it by submission? That was the greatest win of silvas career along with Belfort. Hendo was extremely difficult to tap once he had a few years of mma under him.

As for Andy, his TDD was only b minus level, but he had a superb defensive guard. He kept Cormier locked down for how long?

Igor vs Nick Nutter in IAFC [headbutt]

Uhhh....better than prime Hendo, TRT Hendo. The Hendo that went on from this lost to beat Palhares, Rich Franklin, Bisping, Babalu, Cavalcante, Fedor, and Shogun...
Wtf you talking about? 3 fights before epic ud loss to Rampage for lhw title, ko of Wandy at Pride 33, ud over Belfort. 3 fights after wins over Palhares, Franklin and Bisping KO. Literally right in the middle of Hendo prime.
That was TRT hendo that anderson beat
When was prime Henderson?

That was the best version of Hendo ever, TRT + KOd Wand and fought Rampage to a close fight
HENDO fought Anderson in 2008.
Less than a year earlier, he became a 2 division Champ in PRIDE, by beating it's long reigning King @ LHW!! (2007)
Arguably the greatest KO in UFC history. (2009)
WON THE STRIKEFORCE LHW CHAMPIONSHIP (2011)
KNOCKED OUT FEDOR "THE GOAT" EMILIANENKO (2011)
Won arguably the greatest fight in UFC history!! (2014)

KO'D an always dangerous Tim Boetsch. (2015)
Delivered a brutal KO to Hector Lombard! (2016)

Yes he beat big names who were past their primes later on, but in the early 00's he was faster, bit more fluid and was able to utilize his grappling more for a more varied skillset.

Curious why some think when he fought Anderson he was in his prime?

Lol what? Submitted Travis Lutter and Pinheiro. Oh and good wrestlers in Chael Sonnen and Dan Henderson. Other than that he had beautiful takedowns against Patrick Cote and Nate Marquardt. Okami couldn’t take him down, neither could Sonnen in the 2nd fight nor The Chris after his first takedown. Not saying he was Michael Jordan of BJJ, or outwrestled everybody. But he definitely had competent ground game.

Ah damn it... was going to come with the “he submitted the Michael Jordan of bjj”...

Lol Hendo in early 2000's was winning split decisions versus Ninja Rua and Yuki Kondo.

Late 2000's he's knocking people out and holding his own versus good strikers and you think early Hendo with limited striking was prime?

The lengths shitposters go to so they can discredit a fighter's win is hilarious. A worse version of Dan Hendo that fought Spider knocked out Fedor.

Just admit you're only here for Conor underwear selfies and have no clue about MMA pre-2017.

So MMA Math by beating big name fighters who were a shell of their former selves is your only argument. Thanks for the time.

And you have to understand who Dan Henderson was at the time.
Silva got fucking pissed when Dan laid on him and covered his mouth in R1. Big mistake by Dan lol.

This just in, Striker Fox thinks Yuki Kondo is a better fighter than 2012 Fedor
