We're all talking about GOATs and comparing records. So, what kind of streak would Stipe be able to go on against Fedor's competition? What about Fedor vs Stipe's competition?

Vs Zuluzinho?

Vs Nagata (0-2 MMA)?

Vs Dos Caras who fought Cro Cop?

Could Stipe go 10 years undefeated?

Nagata wasn´t even in PRIDE.In the same card Overeem fought 0-2 Hashimoto... fuck him! right?

Ban.

Fedors best wins in PRIDE were against Nogueira, Coleman, Cro Cop, and Arona. Stipe would have destroyed all those guys.

Juiced up Coleman gives him troubles so does a prime big nog

Nostalgic fucks would be calling him GOAT right now, because:

Such a long period, but only fights against 3 legit contenders.

That's pathetic matchmaking. However, Fedor is not responsible for it. And is still the GOAT:

Even Rothwell would go 10 years undefeated back then. Sport has evolved.

Then why are the old guard still in the ufc way past expiration? Why is arlovski beating struve and browne?

The probability of Stipe going undefeated the exact same run Fedor did would obviously be extremely low, even if he was 90% favorite in every fight. That does not say really anything, though, because it was extremely unlikely to Fedor as well.

The right question to ask is which fighter is the bigger favorite on average against that competition.

You know, you made me look at Ben Rothwell's record. He started fighting in 2000 and 2000-2010 was 31-7 on the regional American circuit and 2 UFC fights.

What's interesting is that the competition that he fought on that regional circuit in America blows away all of Fedor's competition except for Nog and Cro Cop and Arona and maybe Coleman.

Gilbert Yvel, Cain Velasquez, Andrei Arlovski, Ricco Rodriguez, Krzysztof Soszynski, Travis Fulton, Roy Nelson, Mike Whitehead, Tim Sylvia.

Those second tier show American names blow away all of Fedor's PRIDE resume outside of 2-3 guys.

You do realize fedor defeated aa and sylvia, and that rockwell lost to cain?

Rothwell lost to Hunt, Sylvia, Arlovski and beat Mitrione.

So he is 1-3 against common opponents of Fedor and Fedor is 3-1.

Not sure the point of this.

You’re acting like Arlovski didn’t evolve at all

The point is that Ben Rothwell was a nobody in 2000 - 2010 fighting on second tier American shows and his strength of schedule was arguably greater than Japan's HW champion's.

Fedor's 10 year streak, outside of 3-4 names, was over lower tier competition than a normal HW fighter would fight in second tier American promotions. A fighter going undefeated for 10 years in American regional promotions would have accomplished as much as, arguably more than, Fedor did.

Everyone can lose at Heavyweight, there arent many undefeated HW because it only takes one good Strike to end the fight, its almost 50 percent Skills 50 percent pure luck.

Has Stipe ever fought in a ring? If not, we don't know how he'd fare there. Fighting in a cage is way different than in a ring.
