My niece got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas. I bought her Super Mario Bros Wonder. So, it was me, my wife, my 3 sisters, their husbands, kids, etc.. all gathered around the living room watching my 6 year old niece play super mario. We were telling how to play and what to do. I cannot remember the last time I had this much fun. I have to look back 15 years or more.
It reminded me when my mom passed away 6 years ago. I was in her bedroom during her final hours. The very last thing she said to me before she became unconscious was that she remembers watching me play super mario on the NES as a little boy and that I would randomly get up, give her a hug, then go sit back down to continue playing and that it was the happiest time of her life. That killed me when she said that. And I got to do the same thing watching my niece play. I don't want her to grow up and move out like my daughter did.
