the reason why Abel and GGG pursued Floyd and Pacquiao at 154 was because it was a bigger MONEY FIGHT than Canelo Alvarez. This is the reason why GGG wanted no part of Canelo at anything less than 160, even though previous Champions like Martinez and Cotto acknowledged catchweights at 160 even though Golovkin stated 154 was easy.
The reality is that GGG is already BEYOND drained at 160. He always looks sick and gaunt at weigh ins with his eye sockets seeping in like Brook at 147. a GGG fight at 154 would severely hinder his performance, exactly like Oscar vs Pacquiao. At the very least GGG would easily survive an onslaught by Pacquiao and most likely beat him. Against Floyd, GGG would lose as Floyd would have all his attributes non hindered as GGG's drain and performance. Also Floyd would inquire USADA so the fight wouldnt be made since Abel wouldnt have the backing from VADA.... that's the main reason.
Floyd could literally survive against GGG at 160, but he would have to be on the move every second of the fight like Leonard vs Hagler.
