Its not really VR though it's a good platform for immersive gaming. The guy who developed it open source the plans to build it. He has two types available one with wooden stand the other with aluminium. I imagine the aluminium one would be best for commercial applications. It takes a pretty powerful PC but he gives you all the settings and explains how to setup the 2 short throw projectors. I found a place that sells used short throw projectors like the one he recommends for around 400 each.

EDIT: The stand with screen home built will likely run someone around 600 dollars with materials.

Depends on the projectors. You can find gaming projectors with ~15ms which isn't too shabby.
