Ive got a stationary and recumbent in my gym plus a road bike I but I get alot better workout on this rowing machine. Its a great way to build up your back muscles too look at Jason Stathams rear delts in the Transporter.
You can get a decent one for 300 and concept 2 rowers go into the thousands. When you are done you can fold it up and stick it in a corner.

I used to do an hour on one of those every night on the deck right below the catapult gear on the Stennis. There was a puddle of sweat on the floor when I was done.

Excellent machine.

Yeah - they are bad ass. Outside of running my favourite way to work cardio (have issues with knees and ankles, feeet, etc. So running is not always an option).

I'm by no means a pro at it and my numbers are probably pretty lame to the average juiced up cross fitter. But considering my age I do pretty good.

Did 10,000meters Monday and that wrecked me for like a day afterwards.

Did 2500m in 5x 500 sets (1:30min break in between each set of 500).

I want a concept 2, planning on buying one in the near future. They are awesome machines and will give me a break from running and biking.

I want a rowing machine where the seat moves back and forth giving a bit of amusement park ride sensation. I thought a bit about if I could build one myself.

I have an aversion to stationary exercise machines even though I know theyre very effective. More interesting to do the equivalents that inspired the machine. Go for a bike ride or hop in a canoe. Cardio is about movement and I prefer to move than be in one spot when it comes to that aspect of fitness.

I have this Concept 2 Rower I bought it over 8 years ago, and never really used it, How long does it take to get a good sweat going? I remember using it and it was kinda hard to get the rhythm and I didst really get a burn within the first minute or two so I kinda gave up using it.

I might try and use it again.

I have a concept 2 I bought it 8 years ago never used it, I bought it when the Crossfit came around and my friends were telling me to get a rower that it is the best fat burner and cardio if you get bored of treadmills.

But I couldn't really get the proper timing of it. How long does it take to get a good sweat going on it and learn the proper movement?

An hour every night? Holy fuck! How many km?

I always loved rowing and recently started rowing again, man, it's probably the best and most pleasant cardio workout imo I enjoy it even when it's killing me.

yeah one hour is overkill thats over training, Rowing is supposed to be used as a quick and intense form of cardio that isnt supposed to consume much time, no more than 30 minutes

Im going to try it out tomorrow I got my Concept 2 in the garage I haven't used it in 8 years. I hope it makes my back sore the next day, I love that soreness

Make sure you're rowing it correctly. Take your time, work on your movement and technique before anything else. Here's a good video showing how it's done.

Have fun!

thanks very much brother

Im going to work on the technique tomorrow hopefully the sun is out but not too hot. I need to start getting some good cardio in, it lifts the spirits and make you feel happy or fresh and releases Endorphins

Thats a very nice rower congrats I have a magnetic rower so it doesnt take as long to get a good workout because theres more resistance. You can row the hell outta that one and get a good workout in as little as 15 minutes. Thats all that Jason Statham does and it works for him. I watched his fight scene in Transporter when he takes his shirt off and it shows his rear delts and wondered howd he got so well developed and thats how. I also put my recumbent under my lat machine and do light weight pulldowns while cycling.
I have never saw that done anywhere as a cardio workout but gawdamn it works well.
Push off with your legs then pull back once you get it right its easy good luck bro.
The harder you pull on an air rower the better resistance you get so just pull harder.

I've tried one of them rowing machines, but personally I find drinking and looking at porn more enjoyable

I thought it was well known that rowing is one of the best cardio exercises. Just look at pro rowers- they are studs. Rowing is badass.

dont row like a sissy. Do it with intensity and focus. Like this
