Talking outside of Deerfield with their assault weapons ban. Statewide.

It's impossible to follow the possession law when moving to the state

Relocating from Wisconsin to Illinois. With my ccw card, I can legally have my gun in my household as a WI resident living in IL with a ccw (if no ccw from home state, you cannot own weapons IL as a non resident). I have 90 days to switch my residency to Illinois after moving here.

Once I become an Illinois resident, I need a FOID card (firearm owner identification) to have weapons in my household. I cannot apply for a foid card until I am an IL resident

There is no way around breaking the law for 2-4 weeks while I wait for my foid application status after I become an Illinois resident.

The idiots can't even write laws a person perfectly willing to jump through all the hoops can possible follow

That’s a feature, not a bug. Gotta feed the court system

Make sure your papers are in order.

No one is raiding your house to see if you have technically illegal guns lol. All Illinois wants is to shake you down for the FOID fees and they’re happy. For now...
