Imagine the Boxing world stripping a world champ that just fought heroically in the UFC

Boxing organizations are structured differently but they are also corrupt. The only difference is the UFC is the organization, promoter, and manager, all rolled into one.

This thread is about as bad as Conor's ability to box.

Imagine the cunning weasels in the boxing world being so dim as to strip their only major draw of his title, right after he fought the greatest MMA fighter in history, producing a staggering performance that won the hearts and minds of the MMA world and the respect of it's critics? Becoming the most talked about athlete on earth in the process?

Don't be silly, they'd be very patient with him and ultimately he would get his way. You saw the rules they bent to make the Floyd fight happen and 8 oz gloves. Look what they did to accommodate Tyson and his behaviour. Boxing would LMAO at Dana and company if they dared strip their champ of his rightful title, after all he has done to raise the profile of their brand during this period of "inactivity".
First of all boxing doesn't work lie the UFC does, it has 4 major belts per weight class WBA, IBF, WBC and WBO each belt represents a separate organization and has its own title defence rules so once a number one contender is named you have a certain amount of time to fight then and if you don't for any reason (including defending a different belt) you WILL be stripped. The list of top boxers who have been stripped is actually staggeringly long

Ali was stripped of one of his belts when he faced a challenger that wasn't the number one contender for that particular belt
Tyson was stripped of one of his belts during negotiations to face Lennox Lewis
Canelo Alverez was stripped because he didn't fight GGG
Lennox Lewis was stripped one belt when 2 of his belts needed to be defended against different people

I just chose those names because to your point, even the most casual boxing fan knows who these guys are and they were all stripped while at the top and during title runs. All but Tyson, I believe, regained the belt they were stripped of.

Also I find that since the boxing match Conor has faded quite a bit. Sherdog is no longer the McGregor pages and actually has posts about other fighters.

Imagine Mods banning people for starting troll threads.....

They actually strip champions when they refuse to pay ridiculous sanctioning fees even though they are defending their belt against their mandatory challenger. The challenger is eligible to win the belt, but the defending champ no longer gets to leave with his belt even if he wins. It's happened plenty. Do some research and then come talk to me.

Boxing orgs also give an actual date as a deadline, and the champ can get stripped if an agreement hasn't been worked out to fight their mandatory by said date...that's why it's called a mandatory in boxing.

Conor could hold onto his belt if he just signed a bout agreement. It doesn't have to be right now. He could've gone ahead and signed one for September since that's when he wants to fight again anyway.

That's gonna be a 10-8 first round, TS. Better hope Herb waves it off soon or your corner throws the towel in.

Except that Conor deserves to be stripped and is wasting the prime of other fighters and only fought Floyd for the money...FYI most boxing experts don't even have floyd in the top 10-15 all time
