Is an overbite a disadvantage?

I have a very slight overbite(there is only about the space of my thumbnail in my front teeth from the front of my bottom ones to the back of my top teeth). Will this have a negative impact on me with taking a punch.

No having an overbite doesn't matter except for the fact you might be ugly as fuck. Other than that you should be fine.

Opening this thread up again after 10 years with a question, how can overbite be a disadvantage? If you have an overbite your chin will be less exposed as it will be tucked into your neck more, it will be even more protected by the upper teeth. Your real disadvantage might be your breathing as a severe overbite can make your nosebreathing worse, but just remember to tuck your tung up all the time and it should be fine. Underbite is the real disadvantage when taking a punch, no?
