The only decent catch wrestler (formerly branding himself as a pro wrestler) got tapped by Gordon

Gordon taps pretty much everybody in this planet except 3-4 guys.

that's what happens when you try to keep a mystic and show your art to a select few, one day it dies and only a few people use some of your moves and say they are doing catch wrestling

From that small bit, he made it look like a walk in the park. Even all considered, that's still impressive. How long Quintet matches are? Did something of relevance happened before this?

That's insane. Considering how good Barnett is and the size difference. He made it look easy. Dang. Gordan is on fire these days. Wonder how a match between Gordan and Roger would go?

I would guess Roger executes him. In the gi Gordon would be literally helpless in a no-gi he has a small chance of catching a heel hook while he is being destroyed.
Basing on the rolls with Braulio Roger is super scary in no-gi, it looked like Roger was crushing a blue belt (Braulio tapped him with a heel from inverted closed guard while getting crushed).

Felipe Pena. Vinny Magalhaes. Roberto Souza.

Well yea, but some of that has to do with how fresh they are and what order the match-up fall in. You think Gordon would generally tap a fresh Buchecha?

i
Barnett easily taps all the other catch wrestlers current or past.
idk if he taps the new catch wrestling champion cant think of guys name atm but hes issued challenges to josh but josh wont fight him he was a d1 wrestler from Michigan and fights at 185 i think the guys def more skilled than josh but josh will have a good 55 pounds on him

Not really. A few scrambles and positional changes, but Gordon basically dominated. Swept Barnett with a butterfly aero m sweep, then triangled him.

Gordon was on fire.

8 minutes. gordon dominated him pretty much the entire match. There has been a ton of talk about Gordon but wtf Nicky is fucking up grown men with mma records and making it look easy. Theyre very very good.

Catch isn't dead but they need new and young talent. Can't rely on old school legends like Barnett and Sakuraba.

I feel like more and more guys are 'submission grapplers' as opposed to having a specific style. The strength of BJJ has been that it is often more welcoming to other styles and techniques where as other styles have stayed more rigid (due to tradition or Olympic rule systems). It's very hard to actually define BJJ beyond being submission grappling.
