Is it impossible to be a Liberal and Christian?

I was watching fox and one of those very intelligent lady said you cant be a Liberal and a Christian, is that so?. I am a Liberal and a also believe I am a Christian but is she right? I'm I only a Liberal or a Christian? If so I wouldnt know which to choose.

Liberal and conservative, religious and non-religious is two different things.

Look up liberal policy vs conservative policy regarding human rights, economy, etc.

Look up religious doctrine and see which religion appeals to your sense of right and wrong.

Can you fit any religion into your sense of left or right. Religion is man-made and warped to suit the religious person.

So you can be any religion, but you will always either be left or right.

You see, I'm basically an atheist but I also say I'm a christian when asked as I was raised as one and it avoids trouble.

I know a few liberal Christians. The one's I'm thinking about are highly educated (PHDs in the sciences), they accept evolution and climate change. I'm agnostic myself and I don't understand how they manage to compartmentalize their beliefs, but whatever works for them. They aren't preachy and I don't have a problem with it.

You remember me that in Usa the "traditional" christians are very different from the ones that we are here, they have a liturgy when speaking in tongue and published image of Adam riding a dinosaur..

The situation here is different: Italy was a catholic country where almost everyone was catholic, the roots are still very strong . Novadays too many so called christians even at high levels consider the Gospel as fully allegoric and they translate all the scriptures in their societal aspect, doing so they buried all the rereferences to the transcendence and made the religion like a social activism toward a sort of a gentle socialism utopia.

Do you recall which one? I know for a fact this is not Catholic Doctrine. Pre-tribulation Rapture is actually considered a heresy. (Go figure)

From what I recall our teacher was pertaining to the Protestants and Born again Christians, but the Teacher is a Catholic since it is a Catholic institution, I never recalled that it is considered heresy in Catholic doctrine.

Religion class in our Catholic school also teaches certain perspectives of other religions and most specially other christian sects.
