in fact Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson, and Billy Conn all ducked Burley for years.

Tyson was the hardest puncher ever
My dad used to do work in NYC and he went to a training session of Mike Tyson. He said it sounded like a bomb was hitting the bag. Julian Jackson is probably top p4p but Iron Mike is top ever
P4p perhaps. But when it comes to raw power, it would have to belong to a heavyweight.
According to the opinion of someone who fought Earnie Shavers, George Foreman, Ron Lyle, and Cleveland Williams... Shavers was the hardest puncher "by far".
He says Foreman's punches felt more like "boom, boom", while Shavers was a "shocking" type of punch:
Robinson did duck Burley.
That's a good point: as fans we all go on about the hardest this or that, but as per the McCallum anecdote up-thread (talking about Jackson hitting him) & videos of dudes getting splatted by The Hawk, all power is not the same & it does not affect people the same.
A lot of Jackson's victims looked surprised, & like they'd involuntarily lost control of their nervous systems: they'd go down with their legs twitching weirdly whilst they tried to walk away. A lot of Hearns's victims looked like they'd just been shot by a sniper. Tyson's best wins ended with dudes staring-glassy eyed up at the lights, while Big George lifted people clean off their feet & flung them across the ring.
Momentum & force of impact has a range of effects, simply 'cos the act of getting hit by a human fist is an inexact science & everyone's nervous/musculo-skeletal system's different & reacts in different ways.
It goes to show how good Ali's chin was. He got clipped right on the chin CLEAN with several powerful straight rights from Shavers. Never went down!
Yeah looking at his fights, he sure took some shots, clean ones from Foreman too. Tysons said it best, Ali just refused to lose. His mental composure was probably made of cast iron. Still, considering the power ofor those men, it was a Frazier left hook 1971 that dropped Ali. By God that man had a left hook!
So Julian Jackson hits harder than Tyson and George Foreman ................ ok then.
Robinson did duck Burley.
He has a hell of a lot more one punch knockouts than either of Tyson or Foreman who usually needed a barrage of punches. Jackson did it with just one most of the time.
Shavers is sort of the HW version of Jackson.
