Is the Dahmer series on Netflix really accurate?

Based on that, I’d give the Netflix show a 8/10. They nailed the accent and a lot of what happened. The big failures to me were the main actor was a little too handsome although he nailed the accent. The sandwich scene was totally made up and not something Dahmer would do and his death in jail was portrayed as the other guy in jail killing him for justice.

My understanding is he was just killed for rep. They painted out the killer to be this moral crusader.

I really liked the show despite some typically Hollywood nonsense and hope they do Gacy next as teased.

Although that one already has me concerned because there is no evidence Gacy killed anyone dressed as Pogo the Clown. That’s just more Hollywood sensationalism.

Gacy is a very weird guy because I think that he at his very core was gay or bisexual but could not for the life of him be open about it. I was watching a doc on him with a lesbian and we were cackling at how hard he tried to fit in with civics groups by holding porn film nights and stuff.

Well, in the sense that she was not his direct neighbor that is. She lived across the street and was a relative of the two girls who found the naked boy who was trying to escape. She did suspect him.

The scene where his grandma stays with one of his potential victims until he wakes up, then they send him away on the bus. That was fabricated, right? I don't remember ever reading or hearing that happened in real life.

There's a great 5 hour Gacy documentary on YT. At one point, the interviewer asks him if he's gay and he's adamant that he's bisexual and his preference is women. Either he was still in the closet or young men was just his kink/fetish. He didn't have a single female victim.

I will say, the narrative of him going after kids is wrong. The picture painted is he was this clown killer going after kids which makes it way more scary. He was just into young men in their late teens and early 20s. I think he did have a 17 year old victim but that's it and I don't believe there is any evidence at all that he ever killed one in his clown gear.

Gacy I think was created by a lot of abuse by his dead who would always call him a sissy since he was a sickly fat kid. He was always trying to disprove his dad, he was very active in civics groups and at one point had a job with kfc managing restaurants and was making $150k in today dollars. Like I said earlier, when I was watching a documentary with a lesbian, we couldn't help but laugh over how he was involved in so many things like jaycees but could not get over being gay or bisexual. I don't think like you said his clown persona had anything to do with anything because was just involved in so many civic things. Gacy I think is unique amongst serial killers in that I don't think he got off on killing people but just could not find another outlet to have gay sex and maintain his image and public standing. He was diagnosed as anti-social and a sociopath so it likely made sense to him that killing someone was not a big deal if he could get away with it and meet his need for gay sex.

It was a fictional event not a real one, and they didn't focus on the actual deaths like they do in serial killer movies. It would be way too controversial to make a movie about a real life shooting and actually portray the actual killings in the scenes

His youngest victim was 14, I believe.

I was ready to say 'you've been had' when I saw Adam Walsh on there, but did some research. It's plausible He was killed by Dahmer. Not likely imo, but plausible. That's crazy.

Adam Walsh. The kid of John Walsh from Americas most wanted was a victim of dahmer. I did not know that. I remember they showed us that movie in grade school and it scared the shit outta me.
