Media ISLAM Makhachev: "The UFC made and canceled Francisco Trinaldo fight on it's own"

Miesha found out that her title shot against Ronda has been scrapped, in favor of Holly Holm... through social media.

A bunch of fighters have had to find out about their upcoming fights, or cancelations etc... through Ariel. WTF right?

Yea, the UFC retains the rights to cancel any fight and replace fighters. The contracts are so incredibly one sided.

Even if you sign the contract, you don't have to fight.

They can't make you fight. Ever.

Again, I've posted this 100000000000000000 times.

They cannot force you to fight -- but that does not absolve you from legal repercussions from breaking your bout agreement. The UFC can still sue fighters who don't show up, without illness or injury verified by a physician.

This celeb is gonna get sued for not showing up to a contracted celebrity boxing match: https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrit...out-of-boxing-match-will-likely-face-lawsuit/

You're confusing suing a fighter with forcing them to fight. Suing them for breaking a contract is in no way shape or form forcing them to fight.

This is the same as freedom of speech. You have the freedom of speech, and that cannot be violated. However, you are not immune to the consequences of what you say.

Yup

Exactly. Or even if they don't take legal action against you, they can easily Jon Fitch you where they cut you after one loss... despite having 14 UFC wins in 18 appearances, that too against the top competition in the division and only losing in your prime to GSP.

Or, they just dont offer you a new contract at all after you contract expires.

Worse yet, Dana White bashes you publicly, or makes a mockery out of you and all of a sudden fans are all turning against you and everything you worked hard for is now down the drain because you're not perceived as a joke.

Dont see the big deal. The ufc, like others have stated, probably had talked to the fighters but hadnt made up the papers. They didnt announce it that ive seen so guessing it fell thru for some reason.

Then worst case scenario, Islam goes and gets a doctor's note and everything is all good and dandy in Dagestan.

Just like Yair did when he wanted to duck Zabit.

What a first name?, could you imagine the headline if he wins or loses.
