ISIS has justified the burning to death of the Jordanian Pilot followed with dumping rubble on his corpse as following the Islamic concept of Qisas . Qisas in essence = eye for an eye.

What Zakaria did not mention is that there is also an established concept within Sharia law known as Qisas. As the BBC points out, Qisas is the Islamic equivalent of an eye for an eye. This principle of equivalence allows the relatives of a maimed or killed Muslim to demand the same punishment for the person who injured/killed them. Qisas is still practiced in some countries such as Iran and Pakistan.

ISIS’s execution video clearly attempts to present the killing of Mouath al-Kasaesbeh as an act of Qisas. Most of the video is devoted to the captured pilot describing how he dropped laser-guided bombs on various targets. Video of laser-guided weapons striking ground targets is interspersed with shots of injured and dead children, some of them burned. The transition used between each video segment is an expanding flame. The point being made is that the pilot dropped bombs which burned his targets to death.

Many observers Tuesday were confused why, after Mouath al-Kasaesbeh has already been killed by fire, a front-end loader drops tons of concrete on his body. But Qisas explains why this was done. The point is to replicate the injustice he allegedly caused as exactly as possible. Thus the last image we see is a burned hand sticking from beneath the rubble. ISIS is visually arguing that he got precisely the kind of death he had, in his role as a pilot, given out to others.

As PJ Media pointed out, an ISIS-supporting Twitter feed even published a justification for the killing on Twitter, citing Islamic scholar Ibn Hazm. Ibn Hazm wrote nearly 1,000 years ago that burning was one of many acceptable forms of retaliatory justice under Qisas

From Slate

" It then justifies the burning on eye-for-an-eye grounds: "
In burning the crusader pilot alive and burying him under a pile of debris, the Islamic State carried out a just form of retaliation for his involvement in the crusader bombing campaign which continues to result in the killing of countless Muslims who, as a result of these airstrikes, are burned alive and buried under mountains of debris.

It also includes several scriptural examples of enemies of Islam being burned to make its case that ISIS had “followed the footsteps of Allah’s Messenger … in his harshness towards the disbelievers.”

I perused issue 6 of Dabiq but - the issue with above mentioned section on the pilot - but could not find the scriptural justification being mentioned.

Meanwhile in Kobani..

ISIS who once looked poised to take all of Kobani is now having to pull out, after being pummeled by US airstrikes and stiff resistance from Kurdish fighters.

Title needs revising. Lack of luster.

ISIS justify burning of Jordanian? I justify burning of ALL Mosques & Qu'rans because I just wrote that it was acceptable in Notepad.

More garbage from IS. Doubt a high % of bombing targets burn to death. The force of the blast + rubble falling on some others is definitely doable though.

Then again, the drones do fire HELLFIRE missles.

How dare they bomb devout muslims just raping, looting and beheading infidels?

Those pictures are crazy. What makes things even worse is the shoddy construction of most of the buildings in these cities are not able to withstand the blast and shockwave of the bombs, so even if the building is still standing, the foundation is likely cracked, making it a potential death trap. This happened in Iraq after the 2nd battle of Fallujah. Although the majority of buildings looked fine, something like 95% of the buildings were structurally fucked.

I wonder if they didn't have to deal with any other attacks or outside dangers, how long it will take them to actually recover/rebuild. And all of that death and damage for nothing, because it's the will of God.

Welcome to 3rd world construction. A lot of buildings in Arabia and Asia are shoddily built. Walls don't align, inadequate cement to aggregate ratio , crude construction, best practices not followed, dismal overview of laborers, unfair labor practices mean laborers don't care about doing a decent job.

Even many of those expensive homes and apartments in Dubai on their man made islands and elsewhere are shoddily built with substandard materials by the lowest bidder. I've been told this not just from friends who lived there but by Western engineers and consultants in the region. Plus I lived in the region long time ago.

ISIS is just trying to catch up with Christians who have burned thousands of people. Religion leads to much of the evil in the world as each religion tries to purge the world of people who don't believe as they do.

If they are going to be excuted anyway, why not fight and take an IS guy or two down with you? Makes no sense to me

Same could be said of soldiers who get captured. They might as well just do a runner and get shot ,rather than get some grisly execution . Or trigger off a grenade and take out afew people.

Breaking news. President Goodluck Jonathan officially demands american military aid against Islamic State army in Nigeria after massive Nigerian army defeats in past month. Direct quote from Joanathan interview.

“Are they (the United States) not fighting ISIS? Why can’t they come to Nigeria?

“They are our friends. If Nigeria has a problem, then I expect the US to come and assist us.”

More news from Islamic State in Libya. Islamic State allies shut down many radio and tv stations in Sirte taking complete control of media in central Libya.

Local news from Wilayat Fallujah. Islamic State mujahidin capture over 200 insurgents from apostate tribes after multi day battle.
