Israeli & Gaza Protests. 4/20/18 Clashes at border continue.

Please stop giving money to this Israel, or any country for that matter.

I could go on for days with examples, but start here:
The messiah will gather in the Jews from exile. Whoever does not believe in him is denying the Torah, which says (Deuteronomy 30:3), “The L-rd your G-d will restore your exiles and have mercy on you.” (Laws of Kings 11:1) --Maimonides (1135-1204)

Why do you do that? 'L-rd' and 'G-d'. Why not spell out 'Lord' and 'God'?

a fence and some military guys are what separates bloodshed on a large scale.

Humans fucking hate each other.

yeah that is majority opinion among them. I not think Israel cannot survive with that living there borders or so close.

And i am still shocked the Saudi prince said that! consider saudis promote the worst version of islam out there.

Lets reverse it for a moment. Imagine the Palestinians had killed some Israelis for the same reason. You know full well might makes right and Palestinians would get cluster bombed and shelled to hell (again), more power outages, food restrictions and a blockade.

Need more evidence that it's an injustice? A Palestinian girl slapped an Israeli for being on HER land and she SHE IS GOING TO JAIL FOR 8 months.

Israel is an illegal occupying force. Look at root causes. Israel created 5 million Palestinian refugees. Strange that hasn't sunken in yet.
Except Israel was there first and forced out by violent means in the first place. If you look at it from a chronological standpoint, doesn't the land belongs to the Jews (they were there first, built the cities, etc.)

Violence resumes as Palestinians flock to Gaza border.

Palestinian demonstrators run during clashes with Israeli troops at a protest demanding the right to return to their homeland, at the Israel-Gaza border east of Gaza City, April 6, 2018

KHUZAA, Gaza Strip -- Palestinians streamed on Friday to tent camps along the Gaza-Israel border ahead of what the territory's Hamas rulers hoped would be the second mass protest in a week. Israel's military said just after midday that forces were using "riot dispersal means" and would "fire in accordance with the rules of engagement" to defend the border.

Palestinian protesters were burning tires, sending thick black smoke billowing at the border and prompting Israeli troops to fire back sporadically. Palestinians set the tires on fire as some protesters moved closer to the border fence on Friday. The smoke is meant to block the view of Israeli snipers on the other side of the fence.

Several shots were heard from Israeli positions as a few dozen Palestinians approached the fence near the Gaza community of Khuzaa.

Last weekend, more than a dozen Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured in clashes along the same border, according to Gaza health officials. The violenceprompted calls from the United Nations secretary-general and the European Union's foreign policy chief for an investigation. Israel rejected those calls, saying its troops had acted appropriately, firing only at Palestinian protesters who posed a threat. Israel's military said the troops should be commended for their actions.

Gaza-Israel border unrest erupts as Palestinians resume protests

Unrest between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces has erupted along Gaza's border with Israel, a week after similar unrest left 16 people dead.

The Gaza health ministry said one protester had been killed by Israeli forces on Friday and 80 others wounded.

The protesters are demanding that refugees be allowed to return to ancestral lands that are now in Israel.

But Israel says the militant group Hamas, which dominates Gaza, is staging the rallies in order to launch attacks.

It has warned that orders given to soldiers about when to open fire have not been changed, despite a storm of international criticism.

Tyres were set on fire in an attempt to create a smokescreen to block the view of Israeli snipers, as hundreds of protesters gathered at five protest sites along the 65km-long (40-mile) Israel-Gaza border.

Israeli troops took up positions on berms on the other side of the frontier and reportedly fired sporadically at people moving towards them.

The Israeli military says its troops will only use live fire against people trying to sabotage the border fence, rolling burning tyres towards it or throwing stones.

Hamas and other groups organising the six-week protest campaign, dubbed the Great March of Return, say they are peacefully calling for the right of Palestinian refugees to return to land they fled from or were forced to leave in 1948, when Israel was created.

The Israeli government rejects such claims and says terrorists are using the cover of the protests to try to cross illegally into its territory.

But Palestinians say unarmed protesters were shot while posing no threat.

Liz Throssell, a spokeswoman for the UN high commissioner for human rights, warned that, under international law, firearms could be used only in cases of extreme necessity, as a last resort and in response to an imminent threat of death or risk of serious injury.

Gaza health ministry officials say 22 Palestinians have been killed over the past week, including 16 people involved in last Friday's protests.

Israel says most of those killed were militants.

Hamas has acknowledged some belonged to its military wing, taking part in "popular events".

The group has said it will pay $3,000 (£2,140) to the family of anyone shot dead by Israeli troops at the protests. It has also offered $500 to anyone who suffers a critical injury and $200 for a minor injury.

But Hamas official Mohammed Thuraya denied the group was putting a "price tag" on casualties.

16:04 IDF says has prevented several infiltrations in protests

The IDF on Friday released a statement regarding the day's protests in Gaza in which it said it had prevented several attempts by Palestinians to infiltrate the border.

"In the past hour there have been several attempts to hit and cross the fence under the smoke of the tires. In addition, a number of attempted attacks were carried out, including the throwing of explosive charges, Molotov cocktails and sabotage of the fence, all under the protection of smoke," the statement read, adding that IDF forces used "riot control equipment, including fire-fighting water cannons, huge smoke fans, and gunfire in accordance with the Open-Fire Regulations."

16:36 Report: Second Palestinian killed in protests

The Hamas-run Gaza Healthy Ministry on Friday announced that a second Palestinian was killed in Friday's protests on the border with Israel.

38-year-old Majdi Shabat died in the border region near Gaza City, according to Ashraf al-Qidra, a spokesman for the ministry.

One source claimed that Shabat was a member of Hamas' Izzadin Kassam Brigade.

Earlier in the day, Osama Qadih was killed in the protests

Report in Gaza: 58 Hurt From Israeli Fire as Protests Near Border Begin

Israeli army says 'violent rioters and terrorists' throwing firebombs along Gaza border in third week of demonstrations ■ Protesters: Marches meant to be 'nonviolent resistance'

Reports in Gaza say 58 Palestinians were hurt by Israeli fire as over 10,000 protested along the border with the Strip on Friday, burning tires and Israeli flags. The army says live rounds were fired.

According to the Israeli army, there are five different sites along the border where protests are taking place. Palestinians in Gaza say of the 58 hurt, one is in critical condition. They also noted that the number of protesters was lower than last week - though they believe that more people may join later in the day.

According to the army, numerous attempts to destroy obstacles erected by the army were made in the past hours. They also said that a number of attacks were attempted, with explosives and firebombs thrown at the border, as well as gunfire.

Later on Friday, the IDF said attempts were made to breach and cross the border fence. An explosive charge was thrown in the Karni area, and Molotov cocktails were thrown at the border. A kite with a Molotov cocktail was sent towards the Israeli side of the border, but it fell on the side of Gaza, and no one was hurt.

Israeli Army Hits Hamas Targets in Gaza; Rounds Fired From Strip Hit Israeli Home
Following the hit, rocket sirens rang throughout southern Israel. Hamas confirms Palestinian killed was member of its military wing

The Israeli air force hit a Hamas target in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night, the IDF spokesman reported. One member of Hamas' military wing was killed in the attack, according to the Palestinian Healthy Ministry.

Following the IDF strike, Hamas militant shot machine guns towards the aircraft, triggering rocket alert sirens throughout southern Israel in the regional councils of Shaar Hanegev and Sdot Negev. Hamas' machine gun fire hit a house in Shaar Hanegev. There were no casualties or wounded.

The aircrafts were not hit. The IDF spokesman stressed that the Israeli army will not allow Hamas to turn the area along the Israel-Gaza fence into a conflict zone.

According to Palestinian media, one man was killed in the attack near Shujaiyeh in the Strip. A hospital official in Al-Shifa identified the Palestinian as Muhammad Ahmad Hajila, 31. Another Palestinian was wounded in the attack, and is in severe condition.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed Hajila was a member of Hamas' military wing. Hamas validated the claim, saying Hajila died trying to intercept the Israeli air craft.

IDF also struck a Hamas training facility in the central Gaza Strip, with no casualties reported thus far.

This has been the second time in recent weeks where machine gun fire from the Gaza Strip triggers Israel's rocket alarms. On March 26, gunfire from a Hamas drill triggered the Iron Dome missile defense system, which did not activate this time.

The IDF spokesman said that the strike on a Hamas target was carried out in response to an explosive charge that was placed and discovered earlier on Wednesday, when Israeli Defense Forces opened fire on a Hamas outpost after an explosive charge was detonated by a military bulldozer east of Shujaiyeh, near the Gaza border.

According to the IDF, the tractor was performing infrastructure work near the Karni crossing when it mounted the charge. No wounded or casualties were reported. Following the incident, IDF fired at Hamas outposts east of the Zeitun neighborhood in Gaza City.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said that the army "holds Hamas responsible for everything that takes place in the Strip and will not allow the organization to turn the fence into a confrontation zone." The statement added that the charge was laid during protests over the weekend, which the army termed "the riots."

On Monday, IDF attacked a military compound belonging to Hamas in the northern Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, the attack was carried out in response to the attempted infiltration by Hamas with an improvised explosive device on Sunday.

An IDF General in the Crosshairs: Islamic Jihad Releases Menacing Video Ahead of Friday's Gaza Protest

A screenshot of an Islamic Jihad video.

Islamic Jihad published a video Thursday threatening Israeli soldiers ahead of the weekly demonstration along the Israel-Gazaborder this Friday.

The clip shows the group’s operatives looking through the scope of a rifle at Israeli military figures, including Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, the coordinator of government activities in the territories. The video ends with a slide reading, “You’re killing our people in cold blood and think that you’re protected, but our snipers’ sights are on your top commanders.”

According to Palestinian officials, Israeli soldiers have killed 34 people and injured hundreds more, many by live fire, since the beginning of the weekly demonstrations. The deaths sparked widespread criticism of Israel by both human rights groups and foreign leaders.

Speaking at J Street's annual conference Sunday, Senator Bernie Sanders said Israel "massively overreacted" to the protests. "The presence of Hamas members among a crowd of tens of thousands does not justify the level of violence we saw," Sanders said.

The fence on the Israel-Gaza border is backed by a second fence inside the Strip, and the army’s rules of engagement allow snipers to shoot anyone who enters the region between the two fences with apparent intent to breach the border. However, they are supposed to aim only at the lower body, unless the person is armed and appears to pose a threat to the soldiers. In that case, they are allowed to shoot to kill.

The army says there have been numerous attempts to breach the border and attack soldiers, including with firebombs, during previous demonstrations along the fence. The protests are part of the "March of Return" and have been taking place every Friday for three weeks thus far. The protests are set to culminate on May 15, on Nakba day. The U.S. embassy is set to be opened in Jerusalem on the same day.

Last Tuesday, Israel attacked a Hamas outpost in response to shots fired at soldiers from an area close to where the weekly protests take place. The Palestinian Healthy Ministry reported no casualties in the strike.

The incident came days after the Israeli military destroyed a Hamas attack tunnel located near the site of the marches. According to Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, the tunnel was the "longest and deepest exposed so far," and cost Hamas millions of dollars.

Gaza border clashes resume between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces

GAZA CITY — At least two Palestinians were killed and dozens injured Friday as Israeli forces tried to disperse mass demonstrations along the border zone with the Gaza Strip for a fourth consecutive week, officials in Gaza said.

Israeli troops fired tear gas and live bullets at crowds gathered near the barriers between Israel and Gaza, which has been under an Israeli blockade for more than a decade. Some Palestinians protesters threw stones and attached homemade firebombs to flying kites, which they steered across the border.

By late afternoon, crowds had swelled, and black smoke from burning tires billowed over the demonstrations.

The protests Friday marked the fourth week of mass rallies for what organizers have called the “Great March of Return.” It was initially conceived as an effort to highlight the right of Palestinian refugees to return to land they left behind when Israel was created in 1948.

The demonstrations also underscore the plight of Palestinians living in Gaza, where a blockade has stunted the economy and jobs and basic services are scarce.

On Friday, at least two Palestinians were killed after being shot by Israeli forces, health officials in Gaza City said. At least 40 others were injured from tear gas and live bullets at protests across Gaza. The figures could not be independently verified, and Israel did not immediately provide its own casualty count.

Since the border protests began last month, 34 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,000 injured, according to Palestinians. The United Nations has called it an “excessive use of lethal force” by Israeli forces patrolling the border.

Israel, in turn, said the protests are violent and provide cover for militant attacks. Israeli aircraft dropped fliers on the border areas Friday, urging protesters to stay away from the border fence.

“You are participating in violent riots,” the leaflets said. “Stay away from the terror instigators and violent riot orchestrators.”

Hamas, the militant group that controls Gaza, and other factions have supported the protests. Israel and Egypt have imposed travel and trade restrictions on the territory since Hamas took power in 2007.

At a protest near Gaza City on Friday, the atmosphere was almost festive, even as protesters clashed with troops near the fence. Vendors with carts and megaphones sold everything from nuts to ice cream and grilled liver. And Palestinians took selfies with posters of prisoners held in Israeli jails.

Elsewhere, masked youths rolled tires that they would eventually set on fire near the border. Volleys of tear gas sent crowds of Palestinians running, while others observed the chaos.

“To Jerusalem we go, with a million martyrs!” a group of demonstrators chanted.

“Watch out for the [tear] gas!” another protester yelled
