Jacare easily takes him down qnd submits him. Jacare is very strong close quarters wrestler, and seemingly improved his stand up, though he did fight injured against Whittaker. Jacare has a tremendous chin so Gastelum might touch him but he won't finish him like he couldn't finish Weidman, Jacare is too big for Gas in scrambles.

Weidman can eat a dick. The winner of Gas vs Jacare will fight for the title.

now half of sherdog picks Gastelum to beat Jacare. LMAO

Should be an exciting fight. The advantage on the ground obviously belongs to croc, while gastelum should have an edge on the feet. The brazilian seems to have more power, with a much less refined technique, so there's that dynamic, and calvin probably has good enough wrestling to avoid most of souza's take-downs. Wouldn't shock me if this fight had echoes of the whittaker v. jacare fight.

Gastelum is faster and that's it, he's not stronger, doesn't have a better cardio and is much less of a athlete than Jacare, guy is 5'9 and doesn't make 170, shouldn't even be at MW.

In what world does Jacare have better cardio? The world where he was worn out in 3rd round of a slow paced fight? He hasn't shown elite cardio in years.

Cutting weight and dieting isn't being an athlete. Gastelum is not just faster, he is more agile and fluid over all. Not just hand speed. And defitnely has better cardio than Jacare.

Kelvin who put an insane pace on Kennedy would and will outwork Jacare who struggles to keep a pace for 3 rounds.

Jacare is stronger because he cuts to 185 where at Kelvin doesn't cut to MW. He is bigger so he is stronger. That's it.

Ya it's a wierd situation at middleweight, but give the shot to the active fighters. Weidman hasnt earned a shot yet, and neither has kelvin or jacare, but at least they're fighting.

Jacare vs. Chris is a fight we've all been wanting to see for the last 2-3 years. Its frustrating to think that it might never happen.

Def think Jacare has trouble vs people with good boxing. Could see Kelvin catching and finishing him. Could also see Jacare exchange, shoot in and get a TD and end the fight shortly after. Compelling match nonetheless but weird just because of rankings.
