Johnny Case will get all of his PFL 7 money and a spot in the PFL playoffs without throwing a punch.

The PFL canceled Case’s (23-6) bout with Jason High today after High (21-8) missed weight for Friday’s event. High came in at 160.2 pounds, or 4.2 pounds over the lightweight non-title limit.

PFL 7 takes place at Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. The event’s main card airs live on NBCSN following prelims on Facebook Live.

Case’s spot in the postseason lightweight tournament comes after the promotion awarded him three points. A PFL official told MMAjunkie the promotion decided it was better to cancel the bout altogether than allow a fight with playoff implications to happen “with such a marked advantage for one of the contestants.”

The lightweight bout was put together on short notice after PFL regulars Brian Foster and Ramsey Nijem were not medically cleared to compete at the event. For High, it was his third chance to earn a spot in the postseason – and a potential $1 million payout – after a pair of submission losses, the first marked by a controversial stoppage.

Case signed on with the PFL after a short stint on the regional circuit that followed his release from the UFC, which came on the heels of back-to-back losses.

Woops. Walkover victory for Case. A complete PFL flop for High.

I think for season 2 they should add an extra fight or two per division, to make the 7th or 8th playoff spot a bit more competitive.

Kinda sucks for him but it does seem PFL actually seems like they know what they're doing.

He was going to make weight but...

LOL, Jason High.

Quite the run in the PFL tourney.

And Jason High could have done the same thing when he made weight for the Escudero fight and he would not even have been in this situation to begin with. But he chose very poor Fighter IQ by fighting Escudero instead of taking the automatic 3 points.

Not really the same though, getting 3 points in the opening fight isn't that great. In retrospect yeah he should have taken the 3 points but at the time I understand why he didn't.

High was the only fighter that got 3 fights in the season and comes overweight in his last one. Lol!!!

PFL is a joke, and the only sherdoggers giving it any credability are UFC haters with blinders on.

Nonsense. I love the UFC and watch every card beginning to end I have really been enjoying PFL this season. No big deal if a couple of fighters didn't get cleared medically for good reason or missed weight, nor is one fighter getting a bye into the playoffs that big a deal. Such things happen in tournaments. PFL is awesome.

Nope. Big UFC fan, but PFL is a fun alternative. UFC also has to deal with weight misses, pullouts etc. all the time.

High messed up his extra chance at the playoffs and that's all there is to it.

Then you would have low fighter IQ as well keep it moving
