John Cena to Star in Live-Action DUKE NUKEM Movie

Sounds fucking terrible

Damn Cenas block head is perfect to play Duke
Yeah, the movie may (will) suck but the casting is spot on.

The only way I could see this working would be some kind of tongue-in-cheek parody of 90's action movies (which Duke essentially was) But I feel like that's beyond the abilities of the kind of talent a video game movie is likely to attract.

hope its a fun movie, but you cant do a Duke Nukem movie being a bitch about it and wondering if somebody is gonna get their feelings hurt though, so who knows what this is gonna turn into

Cena is funny in random roles, im not saying it'll work but he could make it a fun movie. They just gotta get the voice down.

Transformers prequel starring bumblebee??

Why? That sounds like a flop.

Should have an origins movie with the fights on their home planet

It doesnt even matter because Michael Bay isnt directing :\

A Duke Nukem film from SJW Hollywood could be the biggest tragedy to hit the planet since Duke Nukem Forever
That's what I'm thinking. Duke gave no fucks, was all about smoking, drinking, poppin' roids, saying one liners and saving babes. How do they make that the good guy in today's political climate?

Damn I never played Duke Nukem Forever... Had high hopes for the sequel, is George Broussard dead?

Damn I never played Duke Nukem Forever... Had high hopes for the sequel,

It was a massive disappointment. I posted on the 3D Realms forums, and we all waited 10+ years for what we thought was going to be the greatest FPS ever.

is George Broussard dead?
Not dead, but he doesn't really do anything these days. He was close to 350-400lbs last I saw him.

It better be rated R with no stupid badass chick tag teaming and saving Duke.

You know, that's some pretty good casting.

I have a feeling this never comes to fruition and gets stuck in development hell. I think some producer hasn't got the memo yet, that Duke Nukem isn't exactly popular or relevant these days.

John Cena to Star in Live-Action DUKE NUKEM Movie from Paramount

John Cena is in talks to star in Paramount’s Duke Nukem movie, a big-screen version of the long-running video game franchise.

The project is set up at Paramount-based Platinum Dunes, which is operated by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. No director or writer is attached yet.

Duke Nukem first appeared in the 1991 eponymous video game, developed by Apogee Software, as a muscular cigar-chomping man who always wears Ray-Bans and sports a flat-top haircut as he fights aliens to save planet Earth by using enormous physical strength and his expertise in firearms. He’s appeared in 19 video games as the title character, most recently in Duke Nukem 3D: World Tour.

Platinum Dunes franchises include The Purge, Ouija, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s a producer on John Krasinski’s horror movie A Quiet Place, opening April 6.

Cena made his name as a WWE star before starting another career as a movie actor more than a decade ago with The Marine in 2006. His credits include 12 Rounds, Legendary, The Reunion, Trainwreck, Sisters, Daddy’s Home, Daddy’s Home 2, and The Wall, along with voicing the lead character in the animated comedy Ferdinand.

Cena is starring with Hailee Steinfeld in Paramount’s upcoming Transformers prequel Bumblebee: The Movie, with Bay producing.

This a movie that should be directed by Uwe Boll on a low budget so it can be as in Hollywood as possible

"Hail to the king baby!"

I dont think his punchlines will hold up unless this is rated R. I doubt this is any good but we'll see.

That's what I'm thinking. Duke gave no fucks, was all about smoking, drinking, poppin' roids, saying one liners and saving babes. How do they make that the good guy in today's political climate?
Kids dont have good role models like Duke anymore. Explains the pussification of america..

I can't visualize a Duke Nukem movie in current times.

Man Duke Nukem brings back memories from 90's LAN parties with a bunch of guys.
What a great game we played that for hours and hours. Those were the days.
I remember the game also had an easy to use map editor, so everyone made new maps for it.
Some real beauties.
