don't get me wrong, when i was about 9, i loved the PNW wrasslin, on channel 13. here's an example:



at least it was worked fighting and grappling.

i'm not even trying to be a dick. i honestly don't watch, and the few clips i see are (likely) the most outrageous ones. so if there is still non cringe worthy pro wrestling in WWE, i'd like to see what it is. only then can i answer your question of exactly how cringe-worthy RR is being. thanks.

People buy movie tickets and DVDs to see Marvel/DC/Star Wars films, they attend magic shows and live theatre, they watch pop stars dance while lip syncing, there are a slew of interests and activities that people pay money for because it entertains them. You and I might think any number of things are quite silly to spend money on, but they might think the same thing of us and our interest in MMA. Dial back the criticisms, it makes us look bad.
 
Good for her for getting some easy money but I think WWE is beginning to realize that the Ronda Rousey novelty has worn off OR... they are grooming her as a heel and are secretly hoping she has some epic melt down for not being loved since she yearns for affection and acceptance and thus her melt down results in sound bytes and attention.

Watch old matches of people like Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and Bret Hart. has nothing to do with real or fake and everything to do with athletic skills.

again, i have only seen short clips, and i have to assume only the most outrageous stuff has filtered down to me. so for all i know, 75% of it is still what you're talking about.

or....the RR clip in the OP is completely typical of today's WWE. that's what i'm trying to figure out.

From what I've seen on Youtube, I don't see the equivalent of those guys in the current product. Right now its mostly about high flying acrobatic stunts, which I was never a fan of except the old Cruiserweight division of WCW in the late 90s.

The WWE banned a lot of old school wrestling moves like the piledriver which hasn't helped.

Well it's a little subjective since some people might find all of it to be cringe. I am not a fan of WWE but I am sure I could find some clips that look a lot better than the OP.



This is actually something interesting to look at instead of shit acting and pathetic attempts at looking like you are fighting.
