Life Without Parole (LWOP)

The last fight I was in was at age 19 on a construction site with a guy who had just gotten out of prison for beating up his mother. Pretty sure he has been convicted and max sentenced by now.

Well how'd you fair?

Lost ... pretty badly (TBH).

I went to a fairly rough grade school and pretty much got my ass kicked daily by this Jamaican kid in my class who was like a foot taller than me and three years older. How we were in the same grade and weren't split up after the 50th fight is beyond me.

Mid-year they decided to suspend that kid for fighting another kid; guess beating up a kid parents who are involved counts more. Some how my last name ended up on his paper work and my mother was called in. Long story short his mother who was again like a foot taller than my mom and out weighed her by hundreds of pounds, no joke, wanted to fight my mom and had to be escorted out.

After all that bullshit that ladies husband knew my father and flipped out when he found out what happened. His father beat his mother to point where she looked like an alien and the kid came back to school to apologize to me. He was expelled a few weeks later for fighting another kid.

Well at least the story had a happy ending

Is he out? No? Then you know what I'm talking about.

The fuck are you on about? The thread’s about life without parole. I pointed out that we don’t have that in Canada, and that the longest sentence ever handed down was life with no parole for 75 years. Bernardo was only ineligible for parole for 25 years because until 2011 that was the cap. He’s past that now and will now get a parole review every two years for the rest of his life unless he ever does get released.

Crueler than the death penalty. It eats up our tax dollars just so someone can live in a cage for the rest of their life. We should just sentence them to death instead.

I know someone who is serving a life sentence for killing a chick I also knew.

life? whaddya mean life? I ain't got a life..

lol, no I don't know anyone that has been sentanced to life.

Off hand I can't think of anyone I know well that has served any time at all.

Obviously posting from Canada. I bet he served less than 12yrs. Am I right?

Nah, our murder convictions hold up. The trick is getting the conviction. We do get crazy sometimes, and let a dude who cuts someone's head off and mutilates the body in front of a bus load of people, roam the streets with no supervision after a few years in a mental institution though.

There’s plenty of guys that will never get out, but Bernardo was eligible for parole after 25 years.

We really should stop beating around the bush. Once you have that "Dangerous Offender" title, you ain't ever getting out. It's almost more cruel to give them a glimmer of hope.
