Lightweight really is the only division in the without a solid dominating fighter

Takanori Gomi, was really dominant at the time. I think it was from 03 to 06 or something like that. The GP that he won in PRIDE was really spectacular

How is Fedor a solid and dominating fighter? Last time I checked, he beat Mir and lost to a fat MW (Maldonado) and a washed up HW (Mitrione). Huge Fedor fan, but you can't mix eras with eras - when Fedor was dominating HW, so was BJ. He was the clear cut best LW out there. If we take a snapshot of today, then HW does not have a clear dominating fighter. Sure, Miocic has defended his title, but he'll likely lose it soon.

Between 2001 and 2009, a period of 8 years, BJ Penn only lost once at LW. The loss was to the UFC Champ, in BJ's 4th ever MMA fight. A loss that he later avenged brutally. BJ was as dominating a fighter at LW as you can get over those 8 years, at that weight.

He lost to BJ in '03 though.

Penn doesn't have the undefeated streak many of the fighters on TS list has because he faught at WW or even higher and lost a couple of times. BJ didn't lose a fight at LW though between '02 and '10 and in the proces beat everybody that could make a claim at being the best 155 pounder of that era.

As soon as Lobovs arms have finished growing he will be a 155er and all will tremble for the fucking lw goat.

In the without is like the upside down of MMA. It's a fun place to visit but careful of the demogorgons.

How fucking drunk can you be at this time off day lmao

If he beats McGregor then we can talk
just curious, why McGregor of all people? the only thing he did was beat a mediocre eddie some years ago. why is beating Mcgregor a deal breaker in your eyes?

Khabib or Tony. No LW ever have record they have 10 straight in UFC's hardesr div. Most would say Khabib because he dominates his fights. But Tonys a finisher and better wins. Whatever when (if) they fight and are still UD thats the GOAT.

Stacked division in 2018... Could be the most entertaining class for years to come with other fighters coming/down to bang... But don't worry… all will be well when St Pierre makes his debut.

Egyptian pharoah looking Penn was as dominant as any fighter in history for a couple years. Dude was a hurricane. You clearly weren't around TS.

BJ had like 3 or 4 completely one sided stoppage defenses. That’s pretty damn dominant.

There are quite a few names on that list of yours that were less dominant. Maybe you should watch his LW run before you post about him again

Tony Ferguson is the uncrowned champion of that division.

23 wins 3 losses.

Currently on a 10 fight winning streak and wins over some of the best lightweights in the world.

Khabib

28 wins 0 losses.

The actual champion of that division

Yeah because somebody that's 26-0, on a 10 win streak in the UFC without losing a single round isn't a "solid, dominating fighter".
Bro he lost rounds in his last 4 fights

Hes the champ but he beat Iaquinta.
Has he beat a champion?
He very well could be but right now he's not the all time dominating LW in MMA.

Only on sherdog would someone complain that a division isn't shallow enough to have one highly class fighter above a bunch of low class competition smh....
