Lmao Trump wants to replace EBT and food stamps with food boxes

You are not allowed to buy that stuff with food stamps. So what are you complaining about?

And it sounds like this person was buying stuff for a BBQ. How do you know he/she wasn't buying for a group of people?
Well, obviously if you have money for foam coolers, beer, cigarettes, briquettes, etc.....

What if he was a teacher on EBT or a Mcdonalds worker who was working? Then technically those are his tax dollars as he is paying into it so really hes just getting a return on his money and should have some say in what he eats. You guys all act as if you are the only people paying taxes.
What sort of ghetto ass school pays so little that a teacher gets ebt?

Clearly all EBT users are deadbeats just trading them for drugs right?

Fair enough, I hadn't considered some teachers were part timers.

The teachers in those links arent part-timers. The first teachers brings home 600$ every two weeks.

Getting assistance really shouldn't be so comfortable. There needs to be some incentive to not get that assistance.
Well, why aren't you on that sweet government gravy train if it's so great? I mean besides not being elderly, disabled, or a child, what keeps us working stiffs from dropping out of the work force and signing up for free lobster cooked on the hoods of bentleys?

Because I don't need it.

Something about that doesn't add up. Thats not even minimum wage.

I didn't see anywhere in the story where it said these were full time workers.

Its a good program in theory. But you would have to basically have a specific plan for each household on the program. Taking into account religious diet, medical restrictions, and allergies, it would end up costing more to have this in place.

Because I don't need it.
You'd need it if you weren't working, though. Yet you keep working. So what is your incentive that doesn't exist for people on welfare (able bodied people I mean)?

The point is- it's kind of like kicking someone when they're already down - you know what I mean?

"You're not allowed to eat steak - only bland canned food and vegetables." It's treating people with no dignity at all. It's not cool to be punching down.

Nothing wrong with steak. I mean, personally i'd be pretty embarrassed to buy a 20 dollar ribeye or something with my welfare money but you can get a decent cut for a few bucks.

I'm talking shit like soda and candy. Shit with no nutritional value or shit you wouldn't buy with your own paycheck if you were on a budget, like lobster.

600$ is their net pay not their gross.

you obviously aren't poor If you're complaining about getting free food. stupid fucks.

Any updates on the Harvest Food Boxes?

I think it's a great idea and would apparently save 200 billion over 10 years.

...and no more raiding of shrimp and rib eye on first Mondays of the month

The food boxes may be a great idea. I wonder what’s in one food box.

Blue Apron is not actually cost effective. The accumulating / shipping of perishable goods will cost a lot.

Not to mention the government puts themselves at risk for lawsuits if food is tainted. Completely bad idea.

What the fuck entitles you to steak that I pay for?

I’d send your ass an empty box. Go get a fuckin job.

I never got food stamps myself. My mom did when I was little.

I went to tons of food stamp funded parties though. I'm not turning down free lobster.
Food stamps are fucking great. I wish I could qualify
