Well those wins don’t mean a whole lot, but who cares? Fedor is a true great regardless of what happens in the twilight of his career.

Don’t get why anyone would hate the guy. Even if he isn’t the one true GOAT he has put on some marvellous fights and done some amazing stuff. Insane highlights.

So by that logic beating a guy that sucks makes you even more GOAT.

you realize Pride had a TV deal with a Japanese national TV station right? you realize the UFC was banned from even being on PPV? you realize Japanese MMA at that time was the cutting edge of MMA with Shooto, Pancrase, RINGS and Pride all being hotbeds of the bulk of MMA talent at the time?

this isn't really a point of contention, UFC was the B league. 2nd rate, where only Americans and some Brazilians really competed, it was a small pond of talent compared to the ocean that was Japan back then. Japan had international talent from everywhere, even America. and they were good. REAL fuckin good.

why do you think UFC champions were willing to leave UFC to fight Fedor? why do you think Dana brought Chuck Liddell over to Pride? because it was a shitty, unsanctioned promotion right? no, because it was the best, and even Dana knew it.
