BoxingScene.com has received confirmation that Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz has been suspended by the World Boxing Association - in connection to his failed drug test for a scheduled fight with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Lol! So much for his manager and him talking shit about wilder and stating it was a medical situation, jajajaaj! Shameless

People will still blame Wilder

you read the article or just hurry up and post it? It says nothing different other then the WBA using VADA to and them getting the same shit the WBC got.

this should be a rue. if you test positive you are automatically suspended from being a mandatory for two years and a voluntary for one year.

Actually it has lots of new info.

It says clearly that if the B sample isn't clean he will get at least a six month suspension and that regardless he has been removed from the rankings and that he isn't the mandatory for Anthony Joshua anymore. Before all we knew was the his Wilder fight was cancelled and Ortiz claimed it was because the org was looking out for his own personal health and not because of the failed test getting him any kind of punishment. The whole article is new info about how Ortiz is being punished by a completely different organization.

Hopefully Cuban sees that article and chops out individual letters then copy+pastes them together like a kidnapper making a ransom note so he can make it seem like a positive article for Ortiz.

This is very deceptive. People who read this will think he failed another test. The reality is they're just using the same results the WBC had from their VADA test and are following suit.

Which is absolutely unbelievable. Both the WBA and WBC are protecting their champions from Luis Ortiz. They didn't even do an investigation the WBA just followed the WBC ruling like a bunch of sheep.

What's worse is that they completely removed him from the rankings. The WBC actually had the decency to at least have him ranked top 2, so Wilder could fight him in the future.

Now Joshua has no mandatory fights that he has to take care of for the WBA. At least no threatening ones and he's got a lineup of bums in the IBF rankings. So he's basically going to be fighting low level opponents for the next year or so.

I think who didn't read the article was you bro....

It’s a shame and downright criminal how all these Orgs are setting up Ortiz and protecting thier champions

No, we read the article just fine...

"As a result of their partnership with VADA, WBA President Gilberto Mendoza informed BoxingScene that his organization is recognizing Ortiz's failed test for the Wilder fight."

They didn't perform any independent testing. They're just taking the test results the WBC used for their VADA test.

WBA are a bunch of sheep.

dude....[<dunn]

What do you think the WBA should do? Take a blood sample weeks later? Ask a lab to run the same tests on the same sample? Ignore it all?

@cuban23 what do you mean they didn't test him independently?! he was tested by VADA and failed. is VADA not independent enough for you? or should WBA just hire VADA again? maybe they should just test him again and if he passes now then he's obviously clean?

what the hell is this horseshit. dude pissed hot, again. he needs to be suspended for a longass time.

Taking the results without doing a private investigation is irresponsible. Did they speak with Luis Ortiz or his doctor first? No. They just followed the same ruling the WBC had. That's sheep mentality.

How else do you explain them removing him completely from their rankings? Especially for blood pressure medication.... They're acting like this guy was taking anabolic steroids. It was diuretics. They didn't want him anywhere near Anthony Joshua. Those sanctioning fees.

so explain what constitutes a private investigation. he failed a test performed by the fucking VADA, which is a third, independent party. what the hell does it matter what luis ortiz or his doctor have to say about this? diuretics are a banned substance under the testing protocol he agreed to participate in, he was caught using them, he is guilty.

if WBA suspending ortiz is sheep mentality, i can't even begin to understand your mentality.

diuretics are banned, and he knew this. they are banned because they can be used as masking agents for other banned substances in the system. considering he'd already failed a test before for fucking anabolic steroids, he doesn't get the benefit of doubt when he's caught with a god damn masking agent.

but yeah, i'm sure it's all an anti-communist plot. nothing to do with the big fucker being a dirty cheat.

Because due process important... How would it hurt the WBA to investigate?

also anti-communist plot? No idea what that's about.

Nothing you say to that idiot will even register in his head. Ortiz is cuban so nothing he ever does can be wrong and if it is wrong it can't be his fault. You are wasting your time trying to explain anything to that willfully ignorant fakes news spouting cuban flag poll.

Anyone with half a brain knows both belts use VADA so falling one drug test under those rules and regulations applies to both belts. It's perfectly simple and totally fair.

You would have to be a complete retard to believe the belts are trying to protect fighters from Ortiz like he does. The belts make money from fights, not from cancelling them. Ortiz is willing to fight whoever so with him as the champ there would be more big fights and more money for the belts. No one wants Ortiz to violate the doping rules except Ortiz.
