Marco Rubio is at it again: he wants to eliminate the poor and give more power to the rich.

This piece of shit is either a complete idiot or a shameless liar: according to Rubio, the proposal, alongside tax reform, will "revitalize the American economy." Unbelievable.

Rubio's own words:

I analyze this very differently than most,” Rubio told the crowd. “Many argue that you can’t cut taxes because it will drive up the deficit. But we have to do two things. We have to generate economic growth which generates revenue, while reducing spending. That will mean instituting structural changes to Social Security and Medicare for the future,” the senator said.

This clown is straight up attacking the poor and elderly. But please, Trump voters and Republicans, explain to me how you are defending the general interest of the poor. Please explain to me how you are good Christians that want to protect the weak in society. Rubio argues that the economy is rapidly changing and his solution avoids "ethnic nationalism"(TOO LATE FOR THAT ONE BUDDY!) and "socialism" (GASP!) by taking from the poor to give to the rich.

If we don’t address these changes, it leaves us very vulnerable to ethnic nationalism and socialism, Rubio said. “Geopolitically, the post-WWII order is coming to an end. China has clearly accelerated their plan to replace us and we see [Russian President] Putin positioning himself to be a better ally than the U.S. Right now, both parties have boring 20th century answers that don’t address these problems,” said Rubio, sounding presidential again.

From the article:

As much as 23 percent of Social Security benefits and 14 percent of Medicaid benefits could disappear by 2034 unless Congress acts, according to a the most recent report from trustees. Without a political fix, future retirees could experience a 23 percent reduction in benefits or a 20 percent increase in payroll taxes to fund the shortfalls, the trustee analysis found.

Social security may have a negative impact on population size.

adults used to have kids so their elderly years were taken care of.

now adults rely on government instead of the family unit, financial earnings direct toward frivilous persuits as opposed to wealth building behavior.

America culture promotes individualism, self-interest, greed, high work ethic, etc. Because of that, people don't have time or the desire to take care of the poor (through charity) or even elderly family members. Social security and medicare are two of the most fundamental protections of Americans (poor and elderly). Taking that out would greatly empower corporations to do what they will to workers and will further alienate workers from their families out of a need to work more in order to survive.

Doesn't matter cuz SS is going to disappear regardless. I read somewhere by the time we retire we will only get 50-75% of what we're suppose to get. Not enough budget in SS. Even your article mentioned about it. They've always talked about reducing it so future retirees don't have to suffer. It's about extending the longevity of SS.

Need to know more about how he plans to implement this cut. SS was going to disappear regardless of Rubio or not.

How old are you?

If you're younger than like 45, that "50-75%" figure is pretty goddamn optimistic.

EDIT: Also, Rubio absolutely does not get the "it has nothing to do with him" pass. He has consistently voted along party lines to gut social program, gut investment, lower reserves, and redistribute money upward to billionaires.

We're the richest fucking country in the history of the world, and we have tens of millions on the tip of destitution because of fuckwit piece of shit like Marco Rubio. Dude deserves aids in his mouth and ass cancer in the coin purse where his twat should be.

Marco Rubio is a huge piece of shit. Too bad we managed to get an even bigger piece of shit as a President.

My support for trump has nothing to do with any of the stuff in the OP.

Not a good idea to just lump everyone together IMO

This would never happen in Canada. We actually help and take care of our citizens and respect the little guy.

Let's just call this for what it is, extermination of the lower class. This Marco Rubio could learn a thing or two from the Trudeau government. Fuck him.

I'd still vote for Trump over Rubio just out of electoral principle.

Rubio is considerably more offensive to me than Trump. He's just a completely unprincipled partisan. I refuse to reward persons that just draft behind their party, unscrupulously stealing from the poor and not even showing up for work while collecting a huge paycheck and expecting undeserved fame.

I know one thing, I'd vote for either of them before I'd vote for Ted Cruz.

The trust fund is on target to be depleted in 20 years, and then it would be able to pay between 72% and 77% of current benefits, according to the most recent projections. That's the worst-case scenario. Given how popular the program is and how easy it is to fix, I expect that it will be fixed within the next 10 years with no cuts (and note that because of the way the inflation adjustment is figured--overstating it--, benefits are actually continually rising).

That's a hard one.

The Trump era has made me reevaluate my previous appraisal of Cruz as the absolute worst living object in the universe. Unlike Trump and Rubio, at least the dude forged his path and earned his stripes to get to where he's at. Ain't no one handing Teddy anything with that fucking face he's got.

Did it ever cross your mind that a sizeable chunk of Trumps voters want their elderly loved ones dead?

I know a couple of his voters that absolutely hate having to take care of their mother's.

The tax plan and stuff like this has me thinking there's a corporate war brewing to truly turn the low income class into actual peasants and serfs. The first step is taxing everyone but themselves in order to fill up their war time coffers.

Well, how do people think this tax giveaway to the rich is going to be paid for?

Honestly...no. That had not occurred to me.

Given the age demographics in his polling, I suspect those voters will remember that momma died in 1972 at some point, though.

Eliminate the poor and give more power to the rich?

I think you’re full of shit. I’m sure there’s just as good an argument for Rubio’s proposals as there are against them. I’m tired of people demonizing successful people. It’s not the rich people’s fault the poor people are poor.

Why do you support Trump?
It really has nothing to do with politics. I appreciate that hes not afraid or ashamed to say whatever comes to mind. I wish we all did that, rather than beating around the bush or telling each other what we want to hear. I like that he doesn't apologize if he hurts someones feelings as well. Sure, maybe he lies about some things. That sucks, but thats what the press is for. They wont let him get away with bullshitting people.

I also know that he isnt going into office and blowing America and the world up. He can't just go in and do whatever he wants. That's not how our government works.

I could really care less about the majority of politics. Its all complete bullshit and outside of Trump, theres never been a president that has affected my life one way or the other. I think the people who are 100% anti trump on everything do more harm than good in regards to everything.
