max holloway has shown again jiu jitsu has major flaws

Everyone trains it. But how useful is it? Most of th3 founding guy A were jiu jitsu guy A made a pretty penny
it is not useful because everyone knows it, so they know how to defend against it.
But on the other hand, it is useful enought that IF you don't know, everyone can capitalize against you.

I thought this sport was called Mixed Martial Arts?

Wouldn't consider Whittaker 100% a striker either, he was gonna wrestle for Australia in the commonwealth games. It's pretty clear that great wrestling (defensive or offensive) is the best base for success in UFC.

His background predomuntly in striking

Bjj isn't known for takedowns. That's why people like khabib.are doing so well. Sambo does have good takedowns, he's added aka wrestling takedowns in and has all the bjj he needs. Royce had horrible takedowns, as do most bjj guys. Damien would have won a title if he had wrestling takedowns and maybe some judo. It's nothing new.. Mma is about being good at all styles, and people who aren't get exposed all the time. Look at conor.. If he can't knock his opponent out he's fuct. If diaz had good tds he would have won both fights. In fact it was conor who took the fight to the ground in the first fight.. Which made him lose to a far better grappler.

Maia has the best single leg in the division, and it isn’t even close, but even the best single in the division isn’t enough for a 40 years old dude who everyone knows that’s all his got to take you down, well that and pulling half guard... sadly for daMian no one wants to grapple with him, so as soon as someone makes contact with him, they just get the hell out, that’s how twood Colby and usman beat him

White belt casual confirmed..lmao...superior foot work hah and outstrike him how? Neither one knows how to strike it's even at best
Jackass. Wrestlers do tend to have better footwork since they actually spend a good amount of time training takedowns from standing instead of starting from the knees like most bjj schools do in training.

If you could read, I didn't say they would outstrike them with superior technique, just that they would have an edge due to athleticism, and yes, footwork.

Any wrestler would need some basic bjj training to be able to avoid subs against a good bjj guy.

Just being familiar wouldn’t be nuff
Agreed, but I just said they wouldn't be caught as off guard. And avoiding subs would be as easy as not going to the ground, which they should be able to do.

It’s very hard to take someone down while getting punched in the face simple as that

It’s actually much easier to take someone down who’s trying to punch you. In the face rather than just grappling, if this was the case, grapplers wouldn’t rule mma, pure strikers would own grapplers cause you know, you just gotta punch them in the face.

That it is not true, at all.

Not like it didn’t happen before, I guess you missed Royce vs remco, Renzo Ben spikers or even Royce taking on 50 ponds heavier yoshida...

Have them fight in concrete and let see what happen. Also Royce love to use rules that favor Bjj. Tried the same shit with Kazushi Sakuraba and still got wrecked.

What rule set that favor bjj? The ones from ufc 1 basically nhb? Or The same shit arona pulled on sakuraba, and fucked him up?

Mmmm on concrete, didn’t see a single throw in those fights, so concrete or anything, the outcome would’ve been the same, since there was no throws landed by either judoka in those fights..
