Max Should Be the Number 2 Ranked Lightweight Right Now, Right?

Why do you keep trying to compare UFC rankings to the NFL? NFL teams play like 16 or 17 games during the regular season. UFC fighters fight on average twice a year. The UFC doesn't have playoffs. Your stupid ass analogy makes it sound like Holloway needs to go 14-2 at LW to get the #2 spot regardless of beating the #2 contender. UFC fighters that compete in two different divisions almost always take the ranking of the ranked contender that they beat, or at the very least a couple of spots down. For example, if they ranked Holloway at #4 no one would think it's weird. I don't understand why you're having so much trouble wrapping your head around this concept. Islam had 1 ranked win (Hooker) before fighting for the title.
You talk how it is. I am saying how IMO it should be. One win in the division should not give you the ranking of a guy who has been climbing the ranks in that division for his entire career. Let's just agree to disagree and skip the name calling and endless back and forth.

he should be, but this BMF title shit was never meant for rankings. it was meant to sell UFC 300. thats why the fight was pointless, it doesn't help either fighter in their actual division. max can still get a title fight at FW, like he could have before, and gaethje loses a few notches and brain cells. on top of that, max vs. islam isn't even the fight to make. with islam threatening to back up to WW again, must be that time of the month, there's no point in max fighting islam. the bigger fight, bigger than a topuria fight, is the canner vs max BMF fight assuming canner doesn't get totally smoked againt chandler. he has to make it look at least competitive. then they can do a BMF fight.
